  • What's so nice about a coin with a old hag on it and a leaf that reminds me of raking my front yard :) I'll stick with the American eagles only

  • Buy a bit of everything and you will still be way ahead of 99% of the population.

  • one thing i didnt here you mention was the face value.i like the silver maples over the eagles because face value on a eagle is 1 dollar, face value on a maple is 5 dollars . so you know your maples arent going down any less then 5 dollars, happy stacking :)

  • Everyone needs a few of every coin in their collection since they all carry premiums and you can never be sure which will be worth the most down the road. Personally I like Maples better. Eagles seem to be made with the silver looking intentionally dulled, almost gray-ish.

  • @StabStabStabStabby

I AGREE 100%, THE EAGLES ARE DULL BECAUSE OF THE PLANCHETS WHICH MAKE THE STRIKE. DIFFERENT PLANCHETS ARE USED FOR THE PROOF EDITIONS AND BRING MORE MONEY.

  • @ScrapGoldBusiness When all hell breaks loose an oz of silver is an oz of silver. The american eagle may not look as pretty as the maple leaf, but its more recognizably in america. Even buffalo heads are recognizable. Anything will be better than paper monopoly money.

  • Silver is Silver

  • @mspissuoff haha yeah it's actually .9999 for the Maple Leaf but he messed up.

  • @garryjlindsay yeah, i never understood that. is it because some people live in rural areas and don't have access to a dealer?

  • American Silver Eagles are easier to sell then Canadian Maple Leafs. Canadian Maple Leafs cost less money to buy though.

  • 22.11.11 gold is around $1800 and silver is $32 ?

  • @garryjlindsay

IF AND WHEN PAPER SILVER HITS $25 AN OUNCE THE PREMIUMS (%) MAY EVEN GO HIGHER.

  • I like Maple Leafs better for some different reasons. 1) I like the .9999 vs .9993 2) thickness 3) Diameter is perfect for a round 4) the reeded edge is like a minature gear wheel

That's why I like the Maple Leaf Better than the Eagle. However, I like and own both.

  • Gold is now 1900.00 an ounce.

  • I can get BU silver eagles roll just about any years which is best. Obviously 96s sold out and few other years that are limited. How about 86,87,88,89,2007s $699 roll plus shipping. If I can put on ebay for $950 might be able for me to make 3 coins trade.

  • Remember....Gold was once $35 an ounce.. Same with silver? :D

  • You said they were both .999, instead of saying the Maple being .9999 & Eagle .9993. No biggie, just caught my humor... keep stacking

  • Hey you seem like a really honest guy. How do we contact you to find out if we can become a local bullion and scrap dealer of silver? Also, is there a difference between Perth mint rounds (I'm located in Oz) and US mint ASEs and Canadian Maples?

  • scrap gold university

  • You have an ad up you DO MAKE MONEY on this!

  • @ScrapGoldBusiness I honestly don't even know why i made that comment. I guess my name says it all. I mean i know what i was responding to but..you know what i mean.

  • Ebay? Everything I've seen on ebay was way overpriced, you'd have to be a fool to buy there unless you just couldn't get it anywhere else. There are very good internet dealers that sell for about three dollars over spot. Just do the research.

  • @coffeeexmachina I have gotten many deals at spot or under on ebay. but I work on ebay and know how to find the best deals

  • Gold is $1,900 and silver is $44

  • When is gold gonna hit $1567 hahaha less than a month after this video was made, now its up about 30% as of 8/18/11, just goes to show we never truly know what the market is going to do

  • "When is gold gonna hit 1567$ not any time soon."

    Me: "hehe"

  • @nomorespooks

THAT WAS THE MARKET ALMOST 5 MONTHS AGO.

BUY SELL CHANGES CONSTANTLY AND YOU MUST ADJUST YOUR PRICES IF YOU DONT WANT TO MAKE SOME SERIOUS MISTAKES.

  • don't buy on ebay... You can get them for 10% over spot if you go to a coin shop.

  • @p154831 it uncir... that's why and that is also a good thing.

  • @davidlee110 .... no it isn't. silver is silver... How can an american eagle be circulated? Sure it's legal tender but I've never seen one in circulation. They're kept in a plastic sleeve.

  • What do you mean check ebay to see what its really selling for? Its Auctioned

  • @Dylio26 watching auctions is a good way to see the real price. instead of just relying on some arbitrary price report, you can see what people are really paying. the true market value of any commodity is the amount people are willing to pay, and this is best observed by keeping an eye on auction results.

  • your speculations and personal preferences make no true difference in value. silver eagles will eventually have the higher premium since they are created from domestic silver by law. which is steadily diminishing like the country itself. remember, eagles have only been around since 1986 and will not be around much longer...

  • Well, silver is just getting to the point where it can "normalize" against inflation. Remember silver prices were manipulated for years up until the shorts and banksters were forced to abandon their positions just a few months ago.

I buy silver and gold where and when I can. I find I can usually scoop under spot at antique and thrift stores and eBay I will pay too much over spot.

  • There is a tax on Canadian Maples in the US when you sell more than 200 OZ to a dealer. Canadian Maples frequently have spots, and the buy back prices are consistently lower. The Andean Cat is 99999 pure, but I wouldn't want to own one, because it's a round from a private mint and rounds don't gain numismatic value. The ASE's weight and purity is gauranteed by the US Gov't, but the Canadians don't make the same claim for the Canadian Maple.

  • you are a drip....like gum under a table....or a bump on a log.....GUMP

  • The NAZI's also highly worshipped the "Eagle"...so did the ancient Egyptians.

  • @younitehumanity Yeah and Canadians worship their trillionaire queen.

  • i think the reason every1 likes silver is you can buy a roll of 25 silver maples 4 less then an once of gold, (more stuff is better right) and if spot goes up $1 on silver you make $25 (not taking into account premiums and such) but gold spot has to rise $25, and given all the silver manipulation news and movement in silver price over the last year nobody is really worrying about the reverse side of things, aside from expecting small dips, and you walmart workers need to calm down lolol touchy

  • quit your job at walmart? what the fuck was that? why did you just insult your viewers?

  • @ScrapGoldBusiness is youtube updating ..i cant edit my video ...how about you ?

  • Quit working at WalMart? Who the hell do you think is watching these videos. I think it is time to unsubscribe to this channel. I gotta say, I have a better job than working at WalMart or some bullshit job like that and used to like to watch these videos, but lately it has become a chore to watch these. I'm done dealing with people that think we are all a bunch of simple minded nitwits watching their videos. I think I need to start making my own videos and school these guys in advice I give.

  • I like 'em all.

  • I don't like eagles as much because the satin finish. The reflective finish on the maples is much more diserable. But, since eagles aren't going to made as much anymore. I'm gonna be picking up a tube of eagles in 2012. Probaly the last year they're going to make them.

  • i always thought the 90% junk silver coinage had a much lower premium than the bullion in general. it takes a good deal of looking, but i can still find dimes, quarters and halves for under 24 or 23x face value. i'd definitely argue that is a better buy than $38 or $40 silver eagles. great video as always!!

  • If you want .99999 silver coins go to Royal Silver Company.com

More pure then the Maple Leafs

  • does anyone believe that we are invading Libya to raid their treasury for the silver and gold? I heard another you tuber say this

  • @choctawindian7473 - gold and oil. Libya isnt a war - Its a robbery

  • I like the Austrian Silver Philharmonics.

  • well greg, if you like making silver profits you should start selling cocaine! quadruple your income lose weight and dance the night away! lol actually thats a bad idea... its very illegal

  • silver is more affordable

  • Haha. I'm a Canadian, I like the Maple, but I love the Eagle... cos grass is always greener on the other side. :) I hear all the silver in Eagle can only be mined in the U.S. That makes it more rare?!!

I digress, silver is silver, more the better... for now.

  • 1 oz is 1 oz

  • "... the Canadian Maple Leaf, it's point, nine, nine, nine, compared to the US Silver Eagle, which is point, nine, nine, nine."

I think you meant, point, nine, nine, nine, nine.

  • @johnnycaboosehead

.9999 vs .9992... does it really make a difference?

  • @bichettereds - What are you talking about ?

    I never said '.9992'.

I'm not comparing the coins you babbling fool.

He was trying to point out the differences between the two coins, and he slipped up by repeating himself.

    That's all.

  • @johnnycaboosehead

I know you didnt say .9992, I did. Thats what the ASE is. I was just pointing out that the difference is .0007, and in my opinion, the difference is not worth favoring one over the other simply because of that.

    You babbling fool...

  • @bichettereds Yes Sir.. Big difference. There are certain industrial markets where only 9999 fine silver works.

Anything less than that won't just do the job. There is a very niche market for the 9999 fine silver. I would buy a Maple over an Eagle any given day.

  • @johnnycaboosehead Nope canada uses the 99.99% scale vs us .999 both coins are

    .999 or 99.99%

  • @steamingpoopfart The Eagles are .9993 fine, but slightly heavier than the Maple leafs. They both have a full ounce of silver, but the eagle has a tiny bit of extra copper alloy.
