Wondering how things are going in Tokyo these days because of the earthquake and tsunami. I was going to pay a visit the end of this month, but with the recent happenings I wonder if it is safe to go....
@nico5179 yeah you might have missed any chances to ever come to japan ...you might not be able to come here for a while is at all... but we are getting more warnigns this week in tokyo ..right now i'd not even bother ever coming and if so wait several months to see how the economy and what not is. kinda not the time to be askings such selfish questions though not trying to sound rude but I kinda have more important things to worry about then someone wanting to travel to japan for kicks
@nico5179 right now its fine in tokyo but we are getting warnings again ...seriously I think this question is something that coulda waited not something while during a national crisis ...kinda selfish of you...I know you are not meaning to but seriously you are watchign the news right? things are being taking out of context here but right now I dunno. things are safe in tokyo and its like nothign happen just panic right now and a potential warnign and earthquakes. best to wait a year
@bulletproofKevlar Thanks for your opinion, I imagined that the situation would have been unfavorable for traveling. Just wanting to know the opinion of someone living in there, now i'll have to make requests for refunding my air tickets and japan rail pass tickets. I'll follow your advice and wait a year at least.
@nico5179 maybe a year is over kill on my part. its just alot of panic.defintely wait & see by the end of this week and watch the economy here first a then make the decision to come in the month if you like but i'd still wait at least till summer to make sure . afterall japan is messed up especialy in the line of economy and food and supplies... just wait it out then we can figure it all out..again not meaning to sound like a dick just sorta well...damn theres like a earthquake and shit lol
@nico5179 plus the radiation and all is sorta having ppl panicing literaly there is no one here all the foreigns got out of dodge tonight in my guest house of liek 20 ppl its down to 4 ppl and im now literaly the only white guy!
@lust4anime no you just need to be smart , experienced, tesol helps, jobs other then working in macdonalds... I am able to skip such things becuase i've had experience in business, offices, mangement...you know the suit and tie life style. judging by your youtube name you are an anime fanboy type ...I suggest just coming here on vacation first before trying to "find your way here to live forever" its not all that glamourous. its not what you think it is from anime and tv and vloggers.
@bulletproofKevlar trust me i know its not like anime ive studied japan culture since i was little way before anime came in my life but i c what u r gettin at to stay there for awhile but in my circumstances to actually go to japan i have to live there long story on that one but its good to know that i dont need a degree to work in japan so it does give me hope on that what jobs u think i could get in ur opinion
@lust4anime have to? you like owe money to a mobster other then yakuza ? (lol) you can work any job if you are willing to work...its not impossible its a country wiht jobs for ppl who have visas...just willingness to work and having the ability to speak japanese. but seriously "having to come" unless itsbecause you are a teen with family moving here i can see having to or you because of a business transfer (which isnt the case obviously). anyway If its a want i suggest visit 1st
@bulletproofKevlar i think i mis said it but ya i get what u mean by visitng but i did hear from friends on how its like n i did alot of research on japan for many years and i am motivated to work hard there n i hope to see u in japan i am plannin to move to osaka :)
@bulletproofKevlar and also forgot to mention i am plannin to do it with swap.ca can i ask when u went to the program how did u get to ur hotel exactly did u have to pay for and did u have to get urself there or how does it work i cant understand much of it on the site
@lust4anime swap is great..um dont understand what you mean about the hotel part though. they provide your first two nights at a hotel (usualy not a real hotel but like a hostel like sukura hotel) then you are on your own for finding a place yourself...internet is your friend for that.
@bulletproofKevlar ya i already found my place n job not as hard as i thought it would be now the hard will be is to make sure i do a good job to stay there lol thx for all ur help
@lust4anime swap is a travel agency ,all you need to do is call and ask them they will explain everything in to you. basicaly you fill the application, provide what they need and money and in a few weeks they send you a visa and information kit including some cool travel info. and the directions to your hotel and what you need to do to when you first get here ( i totaly didnt listen to that though because i know tokyo like the back of my hand already from b4 so i thru that shit out lol)
@nico5179 no I've had many jobs in "career" fields and experience beyond that of the average joe. but seriously its not that hard the problem is ppl dont know how to write a proper resume or look for work. you have to search and apply everyday to jobs here ...literaly apply for jobs when you are here 100 a day...wear a suit and tie wake up early dont party every night when you first come...i also suggest coming on vacation first its just a plane ticket and hostel/hotel booking ! its not hard!
@bulletproofKevlar Thanks for the info, I'm going on holiday in Tokyo the end of this month for 20days, just to look around and be familiar with the surroundings, and as well for the Hanami, hehe. Then I was thinking of getting my TESOL certificate, I think as you said it really helps... Got everything booked already, i'm quite excited to go for the first time, hope to enjoy it. Thanks again for the suggestions.
Its been ages since I've seen one of your vids. I just popped over from your comment to Apocalypse34 out of curiosity. I see I'm still subbed & friended to your channel. But your vids have not been popping up in my subs box, could please let me know when you upload another vid & maybe something will click with YT & you'll show up in the subbox again.....But anyway.....Big congrats mate, great to see your over in Japan now & that things are falling into place. Well done!...kanpai : )
@MicknFumi yeah its been some crazy times... thanks alot mick! still have alot of work ahead of me sadly but its getting there!! my jobs are great though still money is tight but i hope all will work out soon!
Kevlar, really happy for you man. I actually want to visit Japan one day because of your earlier youtube videos. In fact, if it wasn't for your videos, I wouldn't be subscribed to most of the Japan community here on youtube. So thanks man, and good luck with everything.
@SupaKirbTV thanks superkirb! you the man, if you get a chance I recommend it my advice come on a vacation for like a month! get your feet wet then from there figure out if you can return and live and if you cant at least you know that you can always come back on vacation whenever you have the funds to do so! If i do have to leave here I will be able to say that i made it further then most ppl and i get to miss out on that cold weather back home!
