  • i remember watching this in 2008 i cried so hard :'( ppl are just soo cruel

  • from 1:30 to 1:34 what is going on? O.o

  • So exactly what did they do to her?

  • @JonathanPerezTv beaten scolded branded extremly starved, and that is just the beginning , look it up in wiki but remember its not for faint hearted

  • @JonathanPerezTv the mom tortured her kinda basically for no reason n for the other girl's lies

  • @TashaRichardsonFan ellen page is a fairy tale!!!!

  • I only read a little about the actual story, and was disturbed by how neighborhood kids got involved with the torture. Now to actually see it on the big screen, it's more frightning.

  • @TheElectricDreamer93 If you're a respected adult, you can get children to do anything. Kick-Ass is another example of how an adult can influence a child to do things.

  • It must be painful for Ellen Page to play Sylvia. I read that she starved herself for this role.

  • This movie will shake your soul, & make you question about your neighbors when they abuse children. Should you keep quiet or tell the authorities about the horrors that an innocent young girl or even a boy go through. Never allow something like this to happen to any child or person even if they are your neighbors. You never know this could be your daughters or son, god forbid you die and decide to leave your children with someone else.........................

  • There isn't a place in this world or the next that would have been an appropriate punishment for those sort of crimes. I would have been happy to spend life in prison myself if I could have tortured that woman personally.

That being said, I felt physically ill after watching this, which just goes to show how well done this movie was. No horror movie has ever been as terrifying, no story of lost love as sad as this movie.

  • @TheEdenEye I wouldn't except prison. If some cop, lawyer or judge intends to give me life in prison for torturing a woman who tortured a girl to death for no reason, I'd try to go after them too except I wouldn't stop at torture. I just regard them more lowly if they knew about the crime the woman did and intended to punish me for dealing with her.

  • Very good movie although it me sick to my stomach and mad ass hell I mean really piss I so wanted to beat these people up in the movie for what they did to that poor girl

  • this is no movie!!!!

  • real life is more scary than anything thata horror author can come up with.i watched this movie and I gotta say... it was crazy how it only took one convo for the father to let that woman take care of his kids.Gertrude's daughter is the mirror image of her...God help that kid she had...If I was Sylvia's sister I couldn't live w/ the fact that at some point i could have told someone what her sister was going through.she'll be scar for life thats for sure.

  • Just the trailer make me don't want to watch the movie.

  • @TashaRichardsonFan Don't judge a movie by it's trailer !! _the movie was a really well made movie i loved it !

  • wow. I can normally stomach movies with pretty heavy subjects, but after seeing this trailer I feel like throwing up and crying. I've read the stories, but don't know if I could even watch the movie.

  • movies can't get any sader than this!

  • @salsancheznumber1fan You really want some to say "I beg to differ"?

  • this movie made me cry

  • This movie made me cry for days, its a bit what happened to Aurore Gagnon. R.I.P Sylvia <3

  • I saw this movie and now I'm I feel really sad and some how scared. I just see how much pain she went through. I Know she is happy now! I hope that witch is burning in hell right now.

  • i saw this movie its sad

it made me cry at the end

  • I've heard this story and seen the trailers so many times.

But each time it makes my stomach turn.

Nobody is suppose to ever go through that.

    Noone.

  • i HATE HATE HATE people like that woman. she knew exactly what she was doing! we need more movies like this 2 expose the extreme truths of the past & present of people. R.I.P. Sylvia.

  • horrible, horrible movie. it'll make you cry for days on end, especially some of the very last scenes at the carnival.

  • I have exams going on right now so i plan not to watch this movie. They are getting over on 21st march n the first thing I'm gon' do is watch this movie. America's got some real creepy, torturous and evil crime history.

  • Ditto. I cannot watch a movie like this.

  • omg I consider myself to be a pretty stone-hearted b**** but after watching this trailer there's no way I could stomache the degree of injustice in this film. Great actors n filmaker definitly not strong enough to take it though.

  • Wow. Dont have the strength to watch this movie

  • b4 i watched this trailor, i didn't get what you were trying to say but now i totally understand how you feel. i don't think i can take the content of this movie, either...

  • i saw the whole movie. i cried when they branded her. i felt like throwing up.
