Yeah, a lot of people seem to think that if a certain way of life works for them...then it must work for everybody else! I never got that. We'll never, ever be alike. Nobody has the exact same background, ethnicity, religion, language, sexual orientation, gender, etc. as the next person. So how could that unique combination give the same results as somebody else's?
I think you're onto something with the 'human experience myth' idea. However, I feel that the people promoting it do not necessarily have our best interests at heart.
