Totally agree, I have less than 20 favourites because they are videos that I really really want to watch. And you are so right, my PVR cost me £180, including games, TV, Xbox etc I've spent near enough to £1000 on my channel and I know I'll never get that back but the money you do get is nothing but a nice bonus.
