MESSAGE to ALL PRIUS OWNERS(ignorant twatzz) BIMMEr730.d does 42mpg motorway and 35 avg!! with weight of 2tons and mega comfy !!!! and not causing acid rains in canada kiss my ass eco terrorists!!!!!!!!!!!!
I drove this car for a week on rental and its not dissimilar to my 2007 prius. The suspension is a little better and the head up display is awesome and much needed for safety. The things i disliked was the cramped cabin. It feels so cramped up especially with the raised center console. It is meant to be more powerful than the 2008 prius, but the difference is hardly noticeable. It's a slight improvement over the 2008 prius. I can at least fit a whole door in my 2007 prius lol.
On my old prius, I run my dc tv off it and all my LED lighting when I go camping lol The battery lasts ages for small load applications but I don't recommend you mod your prius unless you are an electrical engineer and unless your prius is out of warranty.
You can get 3.8L/100km (74.37MPG) if you use cruise control on highways and follow behind SUV's and Trucks to slipstream. On low speed city driving, keep the engine warm by punching down the pedal every now and then.
I like my 2007 prius. I think it looks better and has the old iconic status about it. Yeah its not pretty, it's not a sports car. I take my kids around town in it and it's awesome for long distance journeys 1100km to a tank. This prius makes me wanna keep my old one and look into other hybrids in 2010 and beyond.

AND, hybrids are also bad for the enviroment when it comes to replacing the batteries as nobody disposes them properly, AND you're still using gas and just get a diesel
Batteries aren't causing climate change... massive Co2 spewing car engines are. I know you like your diesel dude, but weather you realize it or not, fuel burning engines to run cars or soon to be a thing of the past. Hybrids just bring us one step closer to fully electric vehicles (EV) and as for the batteries... Everybody uses batteries! Cell Phones, flashlights, remotes, cameras, camcorders, calculators, kids toys, remote control cars, shaver, PSP, i-Pod, and every car on the road uses batteries!
I didn't say that I have a diesel (I don't have one) but sometimes people just throw batteries away and they end up in the ocean (very bad) and Mercury products (even worse). Anyway, I don't really hate hybrids all together like I mean they're great except when people dispose the batteries improperly.
@xthewh3elmanx I doubt people throw out old hybrid batteries. Would you throw out $5000 into the ocean? Old hybrid batteries (and i mean old, going back to the first hybrids) are usually salvaged and melted back down to make new batteries. The manufacture of the prius for example might be more toxic lets assume, but how toxic is petrol? Well it's carcinogenic (causes cancer) and you inhale it at the pump at least once per week not to mention spillage. The less dinosaur juice we use the better.
My wife's 2007 Prius got 49mph this winter. Last summer she got between 52-63mpg. Its is lower in the winter because the engine has to run more because you use the heater. The Insight's 46mpg is real good but not better then even a 2007 Prius, and the 2010 Prius gets even better mpg. The Prius also cost more mainly because it has features that other cars it size don't have, and the 2010 Prius has even more features like that. I like the the Insight but it is not better. 2010 Prius looks grate!!!
still looks horrible and costs to much and i think if you just change the way you drive you can get decent gas millage out of almost anything then you wont be driving around in something that looks like that.....

buy an American made car like the Camry and Accord
don't buy a Mexican made Ford or Canadian made Chevys

Yeah, Camry and Accord made by poor suckers making 12.00 an hour in Alabama; then the profits are sent to Japan. Weeee!

People still sometimes dump their hybrid batteries. You make it sound like it's impossible.
Totally possible is someone chooses to do the wrong thing.

I wonder why they chose to make it look so much like the current prius... that wasn't exactly an attractive vehicle anyway.
The front end looks cheap - much like a Yaris.
1.8 L engine? That's HUGE!
Although the Insight is an obvious copy of the Prius, the Honda version actually looks better, which isn't saying much...
