  • i got a eagle eye for only $60 at a best buy and it works awsome!

  • Does the GIMX support processing and outputting the signal on-chip without passing the signal through a PC?

Passing the signal through a PC is not so viable when I want to take a setup like this to tournaments.

  • mckack, im on the part of installing the firmware but whenever i put the mini B usb in and pressed the button on the teensy to turn off the LED, the computer pops a screen saying usb device no recognized. it has been malfunctioned? please reply back as soon as possible.

  • mckack! What happened to the website?! :(

  • Hey mckack, sorry for this stupid question but once i get my usb thingy set up and done with the firmware, do i just connect it to my ps3 and then what will happen? it will automatic connect to my pc? i have a ps3 so yeah...

  • @lengjacinto That's the last part of the tutorial that I'm going to write today or tomorrow.

Put simply, what you do, after having built the adapter and put the firmware on it, is:

    1) Install GIMX (setup-0.25.exe)

    2) Download and modify, or create a config (goes in your c:/program files/gimx/config)

    3) Run gimx-serial, select the config and click start (with the adapter now connected to your PS3 that is turned on and the PC)

  • @McKack Ahh ok thank you. Another silly question, all i followed is the usb adapter for DUMMIES. Do I need to worry about the DIY PC to PS3 usb adapter section? because I dont wanna have to buy those things :o All I saw is the "PS3" name so i figured this might be for ps3 so i should do it but then i saw the other stuff i would have to buy and the prices.. Is it a different one?

  • @lengjacinto No, you only need to buy the parts in the dummies tutorial. And technically all you need is the Teensy with pins and USB serial converter with jumper cables to make the adapter if you already have the charger cable for your sixaxis controller for example.

  • is this better than the xim3 ? thanks for the video !!

  • @EmmaStone4Ever Well, it's slightly different. More like the older XIM, hardware wise, but performance wise it's one of the best alternatives to a XIM3, especially considering the price ;)

  • @george941030 Secondary is for aiming down sight if you want to adjust the sensitivity (multiplier) separately from hip fire sens.

X/Y ratio determines how fast you aim up and down, based on the X (left and right) sensitivity. There's standardized values if you look in the forums but my personal preference for the COD games are around 1.55-1.6

The config I'm using is basically the same as the Black Ops one that I've shared on the forum.

  • hey mckack i am very new to this gimx , i jsut heard of it while i was searching for more info about the EE and fragfx then i came on to this since it was free. I saw the tutorial but it kind of looked complicated?

  • @lengjacinto Did you read the "GIMX USB Adapter for dummies" tutorial?

It's a simple- no soldering required- everything needed to know to build it- kind of tutorial.

The tutorials and downloads on the gimx.fr forum are only for PS3 support currently, though. Stay tuned for any updates on Xbox 360 support.

  • @McKack Yeah i have a ps3, well i guess ill buy the things i'll need and give it a go. I'll let you know if it's a success.

  • @lengjacinto Great! Just let me know here on YouTube or post on the forums if you get stuck or are unsure of something and I'll help you.

  • Ok thank you very much

  • Did you use a normal usb 2.0 cable to connect to the xbox?

  • @Luniixas PC -> USB male to USB male micro cable -> Teensy soldered to a Playstation 2 connector with firmware emulating a Dualshock 1/2 controller -> PS2 to Xbox 360/PS3 converter -> PS3 or Xbox 360.

A nice little "side effect" this method brings is PS2 (possibly PSX) support as well.

And in theory, with PS2 to * converters, you could get GameCube, Wii (classic controller) and original Xbox support too.

  • @McKack Ehm I have another question: do you sell a usb connection like this for the xbox? because i dont have the "skills" to biuld and programm an adapter like that. i would almost pay every price. greetings luni

  • @Luniixas If/when this method of Xbox 360 support goes official I'll create a tutorial on the forum on how to build it. I've ordered the parts already that should make it possible to do it solderlessly and will be how I put it together in the tutorial. Believe me it takes no skill at all, just some patience :)

  • @Luniixas A new method of communicating with the Xbox 360 is now in the works and has been announced publicly. You'll only need the same parts as for the PS3 adapter and a wired 360 controller. So feel free to check out the GIMX USB Adapter for dummies tutorial on the forums if you want to have it ready when GIMX with Xbox 360 support is released.

  • @McKack thanks McKack :D you' re great.. i added you on xbox live :p

  • thx Mckack ;)

  • Mckack please answer me what frequency do u use in your mouse? dpi? and enable or disable acceleration?

  • @Inviictzzz My mouse; 250Hz (possibly 500Hz) at 3600 DPI.

GIMX polling at 125Hz. Acceleration on or off doesn't make any difference since GIMX reads raw data from the mouse.

  • nice video good match Mckack!

  • And can i connect my pc direct with usb to my xbox? Without an adapter like i need with ps3

  • Is there a GIMX that works with xbox? I thought thos is only working with ps3? So i work with a xbox now? Sry for bad english

  • im not sure

    i use the default layout

so circle is the crouch/prone button

  • Comment removed

  • @FourtySven I'm not worried about others figuring me out ;) And isn't the tactical layout or whatever for console players that do lots of drop shots?

  • cool i cant wait for the ps3 one
