From just watching instructors run demos with students it's very difficult to understand the effectiveness. The instructor really doesn't want to injure the student, and the student is following through the move with what appears to be a bit of acting to show what 'should' happen. Some of the moves look amazing, and that's where slow motion video would be nice.

I'd prefer to see people get padded up and actually see the real result of a blow to the chest (minus the winding factor). I don't want to see some guy go to tackle someone and for that guy to exaggerate the tackle so that it looks like he just flicked him and he fell down..
@eldudio I will say this for this video. I have done several martial arts, been hit by the one inch punch, been thrown around, and I have never felt anything like a systema punch. It's soft but it affects your whole system. It's weird.

So those people are already used to brutality and yet only 1 in 100 pass the test.
To become speznaz you have to have exceptional physical and mental streght. 1 in 100 will become speznaz. People sign a declaration if they die they will not sue the state in case of speznaz training many recurits have died. Speznaz motto regarding this "IF IT DIES ITS NOT MADE FOR SPEZNAZ" Apart from daily training which looks more like a torture then a military training come the "mind fucks" where they test you mentally some people break there.
Alot of you here talk shit about Speznaz yet none of you have got a clue what they are. They are the elite of the elite. Meaning Speznaz will recruit from other special forces and the selection process is unhuman and brutal. Sometimes they will open doors to exceptional personell from non special forces background. First thing they do is put you in a 12 minute fight with a Speznaz soldeir to see how much pain you can take before falling uncouncous or running away.

Im in the special operations community and i would say that The Russian Spetsnaz are some pretty bad boys. Individually they would beat any U.S. special forces operator. Spetsnaz trains their soldiers in Systema 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, sometimes more. No american special force can come close to competing with that. Now as far as a team of U.S. special operators vs spetsnaz, you would get a much different result...Just my opinion

A fit amateur boxer could whup Tyson he just needs the right training and to get mentally ready with his strategy and will to win. So yeah you might get trained a ton but 6 out of 10 cant fight worth shit when theyr actually fighting an equally matched opponent. i bet anything on it.

possibly. I'm no expert in these, but just from the Solar Plexus I can assume that there are other vulnerable areas. I know Solar Plexus from personal experience - it can knock you out from a fairly weak but precise strike. Very efficient if you know how to execute that move.

@aequitas1433 8 hours a day eh? So the russians dont ever train with firearms or squad tactics? Martials arts are not as vital, our soldiers would destroy the russians in open combat. Look what finland did to them before WW2. It doesnt matter how good they are at punching someone or if they can break a brick with their head, they cant stand up to an M4 or our special forces experience and actual COMBAT training. I knew ex-agent of KGB and he told me about training to be in Spetznaz or in KGB forces: 10 hours every two days shoutting and running, 2 run 40 km with heavy equipement of 70 kg, then stop in base and hand fight against your mat, 1 day for firearms practice with master and hand fighting and 2 days study theories (the schedule is until sunday) In day are 24 hours not 8, in 1 week are 7 days, stuped friki!

@aequitas1433 Its not about how much you get trained , its about your mental state on how you want it. One on one between Spetsnaz and U.S would vary some Spetz would win some would lose. A fit amateur boxer could whup Tyson he just needs the right training and to get mentally ready with his strategy and will to win. So yeah you might get trained a ton but 6 out of 10 cant fight worth shit when theyr actually fighting an equally matched opponent. i bet anything on it.

@aequitas1433 From a russian prespective, I still think the Spetsnaz aren't the greatest, but they're just a bit behind the SAS. But they are still absoloutely amazing.

possibly. I'm no expert in these, but just from the Solar Plexus I can assume that there are other vulnerable areas. I know Solar Plexus from personal experience - it can knock you out from a fairly weak but precise strike. Very efficient if you know how to execute that move.

@TerminatorSVT Well they are kind of similar.MCMAP gives you tools and options,it gives you two : Kill or Keep.It was first known as LINE but it was just killing,Marines got MCMAP because it makes you an excellent martial artist and gives you razor sharp killing machine skills and great peacekeeping techniques(subdueing,and capturing )you catch my drift?Krav Maga on the other hand is really good but its for Self-Defense I know there both, but KM is more how to really defend yourself
