I'm a 19 year old girl that was diagnosed with ra just last week. I watched your video on ra and found it very encouraging. I strongly agree with your belief in eating a healthy diet to control symptoms as well as the laky gut theory. My question to you is, is it bad to eat meats when you have an autoimmune disorder ? because i do. I was also wondering how long it took you to feel better (less joint pain) with the new diet.
@khall091 I'm working on a vegan advocacy website for people with autoimmune diseases, just for people like yourself! Since the site is not up yet, will you please email me or call me? My email is apesduh@gmail.com If you email me, I will send you my number. Let's talk!
Short answer: YES-- meat is bad for autoimmune diseases.
Hi, I have Rheumatoid for 12 years and I'm about to do my first shot of Humira today, nervous but hoping for a new lease on life here, I been in constant flares and methotrexate is no longer working, anyway. I appreciate your video very much, gives me comfort seeing someone else with the same doing so well, I too am wanting to change my diet and just change everything!!!!
@brooklynlulu Hi Brooklyn. Please understand--I am doing well and enjoying remission because I maintain a non-allergen diet! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HUMIRA. I did Humira for three months, in which my doctor decided I then had lupus triggered by the Humira! That's when I said NO MORE. I quit ALL medications and went strictly vegan and gluten-free. This way, I live FREE of medication side-effects as well as symptoms! Within 6 mos totally vegan and med-free, my blood labs indicated ZERO SED RATE
@Apesduh Thanks for your response and I'm very happy for you, Thank God the path you took has been working for you and I hope it will always. I know your not recommending Humira, I was just saying, I'm going ahead with it and each person has to do what they have to do. Everything has it's risk, right now this is what I have decided to do. I have joint destruction and I need to nip it in the bud, I will be trying new diets as well but with the Med for now.
That's interesting. Thanks for the video! There are a lot of henna mixtures that don't have any of those added ingredients. If it's natural, I don't see why it would inflame anyone since it's simply a ground up plant. People have been using it for thousands of years. I have RA, and I'll be trying henna this week as an experiment. I'll be sure to check the ingredients - crossing my fingers!
I really like that you did this video, I was diagnosed with JRA systemic when i was around 14 and 15 and i had to be hospitalized for months and at 16(I am 22 now) I found a vegan diet is what is best for it! but anyway what I wanted to say is i got a henna tat on my hand as well and its fine on me its been a week and a few days and no issues there I am guessing it could be because I have had mine under control for so long or maybe its because my RA is systemic but i do get the joint pains as to
Hi. I was told about 6 months ago that I have RA. Im 35. I have not been taking meds yet (only naproxen when needed). My symptoms had not been too bad but lately have started to get worse. I dont want to go on meds if possible. I am starting to believe more in the cause of disease to be from "leaky gut" - what you describe. I read a lot about the condition. I have started to limit my diet and it seems to be helping. If you have any advice pls share :).
@rplandsb Sorry you get to deal with this whole thing now! But the Lord works in mysterious ways. I COMMEND YOU for not going on meds. I gave in to the med thing cuz it was easy and I was curious... I was freaked by shape-shifting fingers and wanted a quick intervention. Methotrexate made me pick up every infection I was exposed to. Humira may have introduced lupus--still unsure. Plaquenil can make you go blind. CHANGING YOUR DIET IS COMPLETELY WORTH IT, AND FULL OF ADVANTAGES.
