Thinking back, the only reason I ever supported Mcain is because he served in the Navy. I still hold the belief that the president should have served in the military because after all, he is the commander in chief of the US military. I'd go as far to say that it should be a requirement, but of course that can't be the only criteria.
WHAT A UN-UNIFORMED COUNTRY THIS HAS TURNED ABOUT TO BE WITH THE PRESENCE OF AN AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT...fucking suck it up and STOP BITCHING @ at every peice of negative garbage about our president...i am a white male 37 years old and OBAMA has done alot in the few days he has become president I STILL HAVE MY JOB...So Fucki YOU ALL....instead of complaining behind a fucking computer find out what the fuck you can do to make the country better assholes.........sighned fed up sopporter~
"Wealth redistribution," there is no such thing. This term is nothing but blatant propaganda.
McCain's big election mistake was choosing Palin. Her "pallin' around with terrorist" comment and "they're not like us" propaganda, swung the "swing" voters to Obama. True conservatives need to distance themselves from attack politics. A few new ideas would help also.
during the elections i felt sorry for America, not one real leader amongst any...btw...google "AIG promoting sharia compliant products" seeing AIG is now government owned, bought with Americans tax dollars, its a violation of Church/State for government to promote ANY religion,2 companies of AIG have a Sharia Board, promoting sharia and Islam in America,Obama Administration appealed against a court decision, and lost, to have a case against AIG heard..Google AIG promoting sharia compliant products"
i am an extreme right conservative and i agree with u on some points. but mccain would of not let socialism into our country. i dont like senator mccain but he would of kept our country more balanced than obama is doing now. in only like 5 months obama switched our capitalist country into a socialist one. MITT ROMNEY 2012
why wouldnt mccain alllow socialism. the first socialist president I know of was lincoln. then bush started the first stimulis. why wouldnt mccain follow in their footsteps?
mitt romney is a NEO con.....and for isreal over US goals....see antiwar dott comm for the way out of left / right nonsense....! ron paul, chuck baldwin are better than romnet...mitt wants open borders and WAR , bro
If you are as big a conservative as you claim, supporting Mitt Romney makes no sense. He'll say or do anything to get elected.
As for Obama turning the country socialist, he's really not anymore socialist than Clinton, FDR or LBJ. Don't believe the hype. Obama is nothing but a less intelligent Bill Clinton with a funny name. It's not Armegeddon. I'll wager when Obama leaves office either in 2013 or 2017, the country won't be that different than it is today.
lol. do u even know what that is? it just means he got a scholarship to study Oxford University. president obama was the first black ELECTED president of the Harvard Law Review. YOU actually lose.
translation: ''do you know how many people in the country got scholarships to go to school?" your sole point is that bc got a university scholarship. even LESS people are elected to the harvard law review. again, you lose.
Though I agree with most of your videos, I don't agree with this video. The big talk show hosts were honest about the fact that McCain was not their first choice, but the lesser of two evils.
It wasn't so much of a lesser of two evils, but rather the evil of two lessers. This type of rationality that says that McCain is the best of two bad choices is cowardly on the part of voters.
Just watched this for the second time now that the dust has settled. The same lunacy in the right wing media continues. They are blaming everthing on a 47 day old president. I'm not if favor of the guy, but the Conservative party is a lost circus elephant.
I don't want it for me because I don't live in America. Seems to me that multiculturalism has caused so much trouble in America, and I meant that it would preserve its white character not that everybody would be white.
too damn late. hahaha. but seriously, were they really all that different?i wish they couldve combined the two of them (obama's fiscal responsibility, McCain's supremely christian values (Go Jesus! who's the man, you're the man!) but i think that the person america wanted is the person america got, despite the highly UN christian Un classy accusations put upon him by his opponet. (McCain, you woulda done better without the slurs! and in 2012, dont look so creepy, its offputting!)
This guy is right! This election did not matter who won. Both Sucked! It was not the GOP that is in trouble, it is America that is in trouble. Having an Socialist in any office is bad for America, This is why McCain and Obama Both were in the race. Our country is doomed. Conservatism is the only answer to Liberty!
The Republican party has just gone full circle. It started out being for centralised government with Lincoln and has finaly went back to it's roots. I'm glad I saw it coming.
tyiscoolerthanyou: yeah. government shrinks when neocons are in power. did you not watch this video? what our republic needs is for good constitutionally minded citizens to take back the GOP and SAVE THIS COUNTRY from the collectivists of BOTH MAJOR PARTIES. we can do this by going to district meetings and voting the corrupt jerks out that run the party now. don't complain about where this country is headed if you haven't done more than vote and whine.
Obama is not fit to run this country. I am not racist, I am only saying that McCain has more experience. Obama isn't right for this country. We don't need him making things worse than they are now. Our country's national debt is 10,000,000,000,000. Now that Obama is the president, I would bet that the debt will only increase greatly.
Based on what? The only time we saw debt drop in recent times was when Clinton was in office. You think that debt would have gone down under McCain who wanted to continue the Bush policies? The guy went nuts during the campaign and started flip flopping like a dying fish. He started desperately campaigning on lies and hate near the end. His running mate was the politician version of Kelly Pickler. Is that really what you want in the White House?
wtf are you guys talking about?!!!! mccain would have been more appropriate for president then obama. obama is a socialist pig and the only reason why he won was because the liberal media wants "change" the only change they want is israel not being attacked. he is a liberal socialist = nazism. there will be more terrorist attacks in this country then ever before. i hate obama and a female latina woman
I would strongly disagree. Who is against freedom to do what you want with your own body(pregnant women, drug users)? Who is against freedom to live your life the way you want(gays, non-Christians)? Who fights against voting rights, equal pay for women, racial equality, prisoners' rights, and free speech? Conservatives.
Im for the best and strongest kind of regulation; lots of nice people voting with the power of their money to determine what kind of business succeeds. AND a strong rule of law that respects the sovereignty of every individual person. Like this constitutional republic, this awesomely beautiful though very fragile experiment in human liberty we are currently watching die.
So you have no problem with lots of nice people voting with their money to help lenders who hand out "get rich quick" loans to people they know won't be able to pay them back? Did the sub-prime mortgage crises teach you anything? Want to see our economy die? I almost want to let the Libertarians(real ones, not Bob Barr) have their way for a few years just so I can say, "Told you so!"
This policy is made possible because of central banking, fiat currency, and the artificial manipulation of interest rates through this inflation. This is under the decree of government. We have had socialist banking since 1913. If we had free enterprise in banking and currency this would have never happened. You should read about the Austrian Theory of the Trade Cycle.
Obama has said nothing about ending the drug war. How does he advocate living our lives as we want when we'll lose so much of our money? If the State chooses where the fruits of our labors go, isn't that eradicating freedom of choice? He also voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act and for the FISA bill; what a staunch defender of freedom. Your problem is you don't know the difference between most contemporary Republicans (liberals) and the Old Right conservatives.
Liberal Republicans are still out there? Where have they been hiding all these years? They run McCain who is FAR from liberal, and Republicans bitch like crazy that he isn't conservative enough.
Obama is far from perfect, but you have seen the Supreme Court Justices chosen by Republicans in recent times. At least Obama would likely choose Justices who are more prone to give us freedom than to take it away.
At first I though this was a joke but now I realize you're serious. Far from liberal? Are you joking? Liberal internationalism, pro-amnesty, disregard of states' rights, increasing the size of the government, deficit financing, socialism, etc. The Supreme Court is politicized garbage, they don't even have ideologies. The GOP appointees vote in favor of the 2nd amendment as they should and then they vote to give the executive branch ridiculous power - that is not conservative.
readthepaper. What an ID. This tells me you believe only in what you read in the paper? If you believe everything you read, read the Bible. There is truth in those pages not in any newspaper.
This shows me you can't take the tiny bit of extra brain power needed to consider what other possible meanings the name may have...go on, don't hurt yourself thinking too hard though. By the way I'm a Christian and I read the Bible on a daily basis.
the bible has no way of being proved true, alot of times people "pick" on scientology for being based on science fiction however, there is no proof that either bible or torah etc. is anything more truthful than a garfield comic strip
There's no "proof" that a lot of things in history are absolutely true which is why religion is based upon faith. Just because the existence of God cannot be scientifically proven in a laboratory does not conclude that he ceases to exist.
So wait a minute, Religion is based on faith because there's no proof that many other things can also not be proven? So basically you're justifying belief in God with Historical discrepancies related to other topics? I'm sorry but I don't see or understand the correlation you're trying to make. What "things in history" are you talking about? And yes, generally when you have ZERO evidence for the existence of something, as far as I'm concerned umm, it doesn't exist.
I'm justifying a belief in God because only a dolt would think that what we see and experience on earth is the highest power that exists in the universe. There are a multitude of ancient civilizations and events that people accept as being historically accurate, some of which are backed by written accounts. There is no "solid" empirical proof some things happened because we simply weren't there to witness it. You can doubt anything, but to doubt there is a higher power is moronic.
Also considering Obama has voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act, voted for the FISA bill, and has voted and supported throughout his career numerous gun control legislation what makes him a staunch defender of freedom? He also believes people are too stupid to be able to spend their money as they see fit. McCain is no different, anybody who voted for either of these clowns should be ashamed.
Liberal involves giving freedom to the people if you mean classic liberal like libertarian. either an individual makes a decision or the government makes it for him. if the irs takes my dollar for your favorite program that takes the power away from this people. only strictly (Constitutionally) limited government truly achieves 'power to the people'. 'liberal' and 'conservative' are foolish labels. what counts is whether authority is centralized in government or remains where it should be.
The problem with Libertarianism is that the power they provide ends up in the hands of the wealthy. Their current party is a joke. Bob Barr is the opposite of a Libertarian. Deregulation opens the door for corruption. And that corruption can hurt us in far worse ways than having a larger government that regulates. Recall the bailout?
I was a Libertarian until recently. When I realized how much power Libertarian views would give corrupt wealthy people, I said screw it.
Deregulation leads to corruption? LoL. Ya, not centralized power from over-regulation. centralized power has always proven to be best for human rights and health, right? how many agencies still regulate banking? totally deregulated banking and monetary policy here for sure! hahaha. how much more power would you give the gov over your and my choices in banking, money, etc.? i'm sure more centralized power is whats needed and will work for sure this time!
Yeah look at how deregulated our economy is. We only have 100 federal agencies involved in the economy enforcing over 73,000 pages of regulatory law. We can't choose our own currency, set interest rates, not lose 1/3 of our incomes, antitrust, licensing, SEC, FTC, Sarbanes-Oxley - wow what a free market!
And if it wasn't for that regulation, we would be out far more than $700 Billion. Even with all the regulation we have now, look at how corrupt the mortgage industry is. How about the auto industry? Insurance?
Hey Jack: Sorry to hear Lindsey Graham kept his Senate seat. But I guess South Carolina votes for party and not principles... You've got a lot of work to do with your listeners.
3408steve you mada comment that made me think that this country is a dictatorship. I think that you are a die hard republican and can not accept Obama becoming president because you might just be to ignorant.Don't you people know that our government has a Check And Balancing system so that means that no branch has to much power. If Obama does do something crazy than the legislatve will chick him.plus we want loss our freedom cause of the constitution what could he take away?
You are calling people ignorant? Take a spelling lesson
to: indicating a direction
two: the numeric value, as in 1+1=2
too: a given quantity
When you engage in an argument with another and you resort to name calling, profanity, racial overtones, etc. you have already lost that argument. I voted for McCain but I am happy that Obama won the election. I voted based upon my principles even knowing my candidate was not the best man for the job. Obama will be an excellent president.
"you might just be ignorant" yourself, you cant even spell words right, go back to 3rd grade and learn to spell. Then take some history and Govt classes so you might have a clue as to what to say on here. The "legislatve" doesnt control the presidents actions.Pick up a book and learn to read, spell and understand something.
Those who don't learn from there mistakes are doomed to repeat them. The republican party is going after Bobby Jindel not because he has real insight but because he is dark skinned. What the fuck is up with the republicans. Have you not learned yet? Republican party picked Palin because she was a woman. Look at how dumb she was. It's what you know not what you look like. Wow. I can't believe how many people don't get it. Look... Bobby Jindel= loss number two.
Politics is the only game where the looser exits the field claiming the best team just lost, unable or willing to face the reality that they are second rate losers in the very society and system they have created and support in that assessment & acknowledgment.
"Politics is the only game where the looser exits...claiming the best team...lost" 1. Politics isn't a game and neither is life. (all is serious)~try to tell a new parent that life isn't to be taken seriously
2. Politics is the only thing where the losers are the best, especially when it comes to third party candidates. The losers in politics regularly receive the least campaign money from corporations...
Reacting negatively to a metaphor used in a parable, simply distorts the message and deprives one self and others a full opportunity to gain perspective and truth from its origin.
Tell any parent or individual that life is to be looked upon as seriously as the powers of fear desire you to, and one is simply condoning, perpetuating and following the corruption they may be seeking to undermine.
And your point is? The GOPs are assholes and always will be assholes..Thank GOD McCain Grumpy old senile whacko lost and his side kick Sarah Palin Wasilla Hillbilly dumb ass lost.. and Thats all I Have to say about that..haha!
I like it! I feel left out of the Republican party and I'm a white male! Limited gov't, protection of civil liberties and national defense, that's what I'm about. McCain offered 1 of 3, and hell if I know about Obama.
you sound like you know what you are talking about and most of it is true. But this is a democracy and we all share different ideas so to say they are both the same is like saying that Islam and chritian are both the same.Growing up and realizing they both suck is crazy don't you remember what America has gone throught to get to where we are today it was hard and long.you made me sad.
"I voted for Obama because he has a plan to get this country back on track"
Explain. Because really, I don't see it. He is slightly less of a war monger than McCain? You realize we probably will attack Iran anyway before the decade is over, right? He will do nothing about the debt and is weak on civil liberties.
Everything else checks out though. Black conservatives are awesome if for how fun it is to scare the crap out of liberals with them. XD Thomas Sowell and Alan Keyes for the win.
Look I'm African American. As African American as you can get. I voted for Bush's first term. I voted for Barack Obama. I voted for Obama because he has a plan to get this country back on track. The republicans was a train wreck at best and if you ever really want to get that party back on track you would admit that. Stop making excuses for an awful campaign. One more thing. Pay more attention to people of color who share your beliefs. Dont assume we are all Democrats.
Its the 30 per cent of Americans like you that voted for him because of matching skin color instead of researching the man for trustworthiness. His plan for this country is to divide the economic classes even more,he just another marxist socialist. His plan is to make you more of a slave to the Govt regardless of skin color, more laws, restrictions and less personal freedoms.
Democrats and big Govt need each other to perpetuate the socialist cancer sending our country into a downward spiral.
3408steve: the bush administration put restrictions on our freedoms. Socialism when it works to be applied properly doesn't divide the classes further. But the Bush Administration pushed the patriot act, military commissions act, & Senate Bill 1959.(I didn't vote for Obama-I voted 3rd party.) Bush began the process of enslavement to the gov't regardless of whatever...Bush signed a document ending america as we know it...
Obviously you are young and dont have a clue about what youre saying, your silly ramblings are simply untrue and without basis. There is no way to properly apply socialism, have you lived in a socialist country to know what its like?...of course not.your left wing statements prove you voted for Obama, mostly just because hes black, admit it.The democrat congress has been steadily enslaving people to depend on big Govt, blacks know all about Govt benefits, its modern day slavery, except they dont work.
"don't have a clue what I am saying"???? "Left wing statements"?? To me it is [McObmain] Obama disgusts me b/c he wears the umbrealla of hopefully changing something when the only leader that has done this for real is MLK...I live in a red state so voting for Obama is more of a wasted vote than voting for a 3rd party---"my silly ramblings"?patriot act-no that didn't happen during the shrub jr. administration.Obama is half white and I am sure he will represent whites as he loved his mom & she him
Oh, I'm laughing! You nailed it SA. A very entertaining recap to the presidential race. And, I'm wondering, do you have a subscription to editorial stock images for these things you put together for youtube?
The problem as I see it is that once government takes something over it is loathe to get rid of it. Can anyone name any tax repealed? Government agency done away with? The Republicrats got elected in 94 to get rid of things and what happened? They got rid of nothing. It is looking like we need a real revolution. Liberals are not to be worried about though; they don't like guns.
We got Obama for four years. Doom and gloom prophecy ain't gonna do anything for America. And don't assume I'm ill-informed. And hatin ain't got nothin to do with race.
I wasn't assuming that you were ill-informed...I could say to you-don't assume that I am a hater. Again, I am just not ill-informed.
(that statement by no means calls you ill-informed)-if you made an ill-informed statement-I might or might not call you ill-informed, but no I don't have Obama for four years. This country is stuck with Obama for four years just like Bush with 8 years.Phony hope won't do anything for america. Don't assume that I just hate, I have researched, I know truths.
The media and the two parties want you to think that they are the only choices so you have to support their agenda or be cursed with "the other guy". Well, with 40% of the electorate not liking either choice it is time for the American people to realize that the demographics are on the side of the people. The two main parties know this and they don't want you to. Vote Libertarian and send a REAL message.
If the GOP would have nominated Ron Paul, he would have beaten Obama in all 50 states. His message of liberty, and with the record to back it up, would have killed the Democrats. But the GOP treated Paul like crap, I remember them laughing at Dr. Paul during the debates and FOX News doing hatchet jobs on him. Ron Paul is probably laughing his ass off right now and he should. This is a great video that completely nails it. The GOP have got to stop appeasing Dems and moving to the Left.
You are a effin idiot do u have anyidea wtf you are shpeeling outa ur trap hole... Grow up stop being a child it's close minded people like you that have gottn us in the fucked up situation anyways...!!!
as usual you have a damn good point. I must say that morally i am worried about obama like gun contral, english as a second language ( mccain was probably for that to) bt we really should give him a chance. If he screws up hell get a democratic congress like clinton did
This is painful to hear for those who already knew what a joke this election was... Four years of Great Society politics is now what we get for backing the Harry Truman of the Republican party... Very painful. Additionally, I hope I don't hear from Sarah Palin again - we need real fiscal conservatives than social conservatives at the moment. Reagan did his major in economics, he was more than an actor - the Goldwater wing of the party needs a young, fresh disciple.
This is all true. I am a conservative and have seen Republicans in power do nothing to change the Left's total control over all our media, entertainment and education institutions and terimite funding in the Federal government. Cultural cleansing, airbrushing history and distorting the constitution, is absolutely necessary in order for socialists in both parties to keep control over our thinking and our options. We need another "contract with America" and education of our people.
You all don't get it... please tell me what the difference between the two parties is. Not what their rhetoric is, what is their actual difference in policy? Both vote for social(ist) programs, more government power, centralized economic planing, and attack those in their party who dare challenge their plans, remember the way the repubs treated Ron Paul? I will not vote republican until they have a "come to Jesus" moment and realize they are ruining our country!
Your'e completely wrong on this video. Nobody forgot what McCain stood for. We were just hoping that Palin would bring something new. It was also a vote for the lesser of two evils.
Now is time to move forward and try to avoid these rude comments. I think the Presidency of Obama will bring new and positive changes and I hope that both parties can be agree in more issues than being disagree but we all have to work. Just my thought....
Who's rich? Small Business? Give me a break . . . That's what we've been asking for for 8 years: nada. Do you think it will happen with the Democrats? Nyet!
The duopoly has absolute power over ALL wealth. Vote 3rd party or stay home if you want "change".
Obama and McCain are both pro CFR. The Council on Foreign Relations is set on creating a "One World Government" and people in this country are voting for just that without knowing. Everyone is plugged into their TV while our country is being sold out to global bankers. You vote for McCain or Obama you are voting for the destruction of our nation. Just watch and see.
Honestly I didn't want Obama to be our next President. However with that said, I pray that he truly will be the great President that everyone seems to think he'll be.
Conservatives had their chance to grow up from 2002-2006, and they didn't. What lies ahead is redefinement and a new age, as all americans work together.
'While I Breathe I Hope' (1 of 2 SC motto)
'While We Breathe We Hope' President elected, Barack Obama Nov 4 2008
Take Pride SA, take pride......just don't take it out of context....
This is a great video. I voted for McCain but knew he was going to lose. I was a strong supporter of Ron Paul and I should have wrote him in BTW, who should have been the GOP nominee and would've won 50 states against Obama. But the GOP ran Paul out of the party and laughed at him. Americans are going to get the gov't they deserve. Change is coming folks, oh, it is coming.
After they wouldn't even acknowledge the delegate votes for Ron Paul at the convention I can't understand how any one could possibly stomach a vote for the GOP.
Obama won largely b/c of the Hispanic vote that Bush had in 04, so Im not sure you are really going to like this. The 'Conservatives' are going to have to really consider how much of the American electorate it really has and how to get some of the non-trraditional conservaitives in their camp.
SA you might want to think about how to repackage 'conservatism' so that it can actually WIN an election, NOT just make you happy, instead of gloating over the leftist emboldening that occured here.
Erg. Sorry. Should not have called you a dumbass. I apologize for my knee jerk reaction. I am just sick and tired of the idea that we have to pander to moderates and liberals.
Notice Ron Paul managed to hold onto a lot of social conservative values while intermixing libertarian ones and got a great number of progressive and liberals on that virtue? A ton of people in this country ARE capitalists and DO like limited government.
I am a pro-life libertarian, so GOP getting my vote SHOULDN'T be hard. Yet it is. Yet things like the patriot act (which liberals and neo-cons both loved) and this war are things GOP has fire branded. A candidate that would have been against the Patriot Act and FISA amendment alone I think would have SLAUGHTERED Obama for his own gafs in those areas, in my own opinion. Most liberal voters hate those things, but most liberal politicians love them. They would have came.
Honestly I dont think that inconsistency of any sort could have cost Obama the election. He had the image the media and so many anti Bush people wanted.
On policy he hit more switches than a 64 Imapala lowrider and it almost didnt faze him b/c his image remained the same and lots of America likes image, a lot.
Obama could have gotten away with ANYTHING this round (and just about did), he had an unlimited free pass.
lol :P go ahead! Im not a Libertarian. There are things I like about libertarian ideals but Im far to much a realpolitiker to be a member of the group, but Im not purely that either. I want some of the ideals that are workable incorporated into a more private approach to things but I dont think pure libertarains are going to win major elections anytime soon. Id be ok with being wrong on that, btw. I would like more libertarian influence on policy but Im not committed to the ideology per se.
Well, the real Achilles heel of the libertarian party is drug legalization. I hate to admit it because I myself think that spending all that tax money catching them, imprisoning them, so on and so forth just to keep them from doing stupid things that ultimately only effect themselves is hardly a right of any government, let alone the fed.
But so many people think that if we legalize it then people are going to run around doing it 24/7 that the second that notion leaves a candidates mouth...
Thats one of them, especially for hard drugs. I dont smoke pot anymore but certainly think it should be decrimialized. I think the conservative movement has to come to terms with America's celebrity lust (and I'd love for that phenomenon to be peaking, so it can now fall). Obama won the American Idol Presidential election. Thats it. On policy record McCain was not great but he was far better than BO. Mccain was a good guy with an unpopular image, and thats superficial but its why he lost.
Hrm. I wouldn't go that far. McCain had a better record in some cases, like guns and size and role of government. Obama had (from a libertarian stand point) a slightly better one on war and spying on the people. Really the differences were ultimately minute at best. They both were terrible. I am still reeling from how horrendously they both failed to be appealing on the issues most important to me. If either had voted no on the Fisa amendment or bail out it might have been enough to get my vote.
Though I do admit to being VERY impressed by how well Paul did inspite of his view on the war on drugs. That gives me hope that the libertarians will have their time to shine eventually.
As far as what caused him to lose... the liberal media shredding him was part of it, but I think Bush was the ultimate shadow over him. Inconsistency (BO is as guilty but the media won't fry him for it). His choice in Palin, while not stupid I think ultimately damaged him. And that conservative base was just not at all pleased with what they saw. Lack of enthusiasm. Even if we are winning the war now, people are also sick of it. That landed Obama appeal, even if he won't end it.
Erg. How pathetic. The only third party to break 1% in any state was Ron Paul (who wasn't even running) in Montana and NONE OF THE ABOVE (which was apparently on the ballot) in Nevada.
Thinking back, the only reason I ever supported Mcain is because he served in the Navy. I still hold the belief that the president should have served in the military because after all, he is the commander in chief of the US military. I'd go as far to say that it should be a requirement, but of course that can't be the only criteria.

Obama is not fit to run this country. I am not racist, I am only saying that McCain has more experience. Obama isn't right for this country. We don't need him making things worse than they are now. Our country's national debt is 10,000,000,000,000. Now that Obama is the president, I would bet that the debt will only increase greatly.
tyiscoolerthanyou 3 years ago
Based on what? The only time we saw debt drop in recent times was when Clinton was in office. You think that debt would have gone down under McCain who wanted to continue the Bush policies? The guy went nuts during the campaign and started flip flopping like a dying fish. He started desperately campaigning on lies and hate near the end. I would strongly disagree. Who is against freedom to do what you want with your own body(pregnant women, drug users)? Who is against freedom to live your life the way you want(gays, non-Christians)? Who fights against voting rights, equal pay for women, racial equality, prisoners' rights, and free speech? Conservatives.
jstutz2003 3 years ago
Im for the best and strongest kind of regulation; lots of nice people voting with the power of their money to determine what kind of business succeeds. AND a strong rule of law that respects the sovereignty of every individual person. Like this constitutional republic, this awesomely beautiful though very fragile experiment in human liberty we are currently watching die.
thinkchip 3 years ago 2
So you have no problem with lots of nice people voting with their money to help lenders who hand out "get rich quick" loans to people they know won't be able to pay them back? Did the sub-prime mortgage crises teach you anything? Want to see our economy die? I almost want to let the Libertarians(real ones, not Bob Barr) have their way for a few years just so I can say, "Told you so!"
jstutz2003 3 years ago
This policy is made possible because of central banking, fiat currency, and the artificial manipulation of interest rates through this inflation. This is under the decree of government. We have had socialist banking since 1913. If we had free enterprise in banking and currency this would have never happened. You should read about the Austrian Theory of the Trade Cycle.
readthepaper 3 years ago
Obama has said nothing about ending the drug war. How does he advocate living our lives as we want when we'll lose so much of our money? If the State chooses where the fruits of our labors go, isn't that eradicating freedom of choice? He also voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act and for the FISA bill; what a staunch defender of freedom. Your problem is you don't know the difference between most contemporary Republicans (liberals) and the Old Right conservatives.
readthepaper 3 years ago
Liberal Republicans are still out there? Where have they been hiding all these years? They run McCain who is FAR from liberal, and Republicans bitch like crazy that he isn't conservative enough.
Obama is far from perfect, but you have seen the Supreme Court Justices chosen by Republicans in recent times. At least Obama would likely choose Justices who are more prone to give us freedom than to take it away.
jstutz2003 3 years ago
At first I though this was a joke but now I realize you're serious. Far from liberal? Are you joking? Liberal internationalism, pro-amnesty, disregard of states' rights, increasing the size of the government, deficit financing, socialism, etc. The Supreme Court is politicized garbage, they don't even have ideologies. The GOP appointees vote in favor of the 2nd amendment as they should and then they vote to give the executive branch ridiculous power - that is not conservative.

the bible has no way of being proved true, alot of times people "pick" on scientology for being based on science fiction however, there is no proof that either bible or torah etc. is anything more truthful than a garfield comic strip
SOABProductions 3 years ago
There's no "proof" that a lot of things in history are absolutely true which is why religion is based upon faith. Just because the existence of God cannot be scientifically proven in a laboratory does not conclude that he ceases to exist.
readthepaper 3 years ago
So wait a minute, Religion is based on faith because there's no proof that many other things can also not be proven? So basically you're justifying belief in God with Historical discrepancies related to other topics? I'm sorry but I don't see or understand the correlation you're trying to make. What "things in history" are you talking about? And yes, generally when you have ZERO evidence for the existence of something, as far as I'm concerned umm, it doesn't exist.
podunkest 2 years ago
I'm justifying a belief in God because only a dolt would think that what we see and experience on earth is the highest power that exists in the universe. There are a multitude of ancient civilizations and events that people accept as being historically accurate, some of which are backed by written accounts. There is no "solid" empirical proof some things happened because we simply weren't there to witness it. You can doubt anything, but to doubt there is a higher power is moronic.
readthepaper 2 years ago
Also considering Obama has voted to reauthorize the Patriot Act, voted for the FISA bill, and has voted and supported throughout his career numerous gun control legislation what makes him a staunch defender of freedom? He also believes people are too stupid to be able to spend their money as they see fit. McCain is no different, anybody who voted for either of these clowns should be ashamed.
readthepaper 3 years ago
Liberal involves giving freedom to the people if you mean classic liberal like libertarian. either an individual makes a decision or the government makes it for him. if the irs takes my dollar for your favorite program that takes the power away from this people. only strictly (Constitutionally) limited government truly achieves 'power to the people'. 'liberal' and 'conservative' are foolish labels. what counts is whether authority is centralized in government or remains where it should be.
thinkchip 3 years ago
The problem with Libertarianism is that the power they provide ends up in the hands of the wealthy. Their current party is a joke. Bob Barr is the opposite of a Libertarian. Deregulation opens the door for corruption. And that corruption can hurt us in far worse ways than having a larger government that regulates. Recall the bailout?
I was a Libertarian until recently. When I realized how much power Libertarian views would give corrupt wealthy people, I said screw it.
jstutz2003 3 years ago
Deregulation leads to corruption? LoL. Ya, not centralized power from over-regulation. centralized power has always proven to be best for human rights and health, right? how many agencies still regulate banking? totally deregulated banking and monetary policy here for sure! hahaha. how much more power would you give the gov over your and my choices in banking, money, etc.? i'm sure more centralized power is whats needed and will work for sure this time!
thinkchip 3 years ago
Yeah look at how deregulated our economy is. We only have 100 federal agencies involved in the economy enforcing over 73,000 pages of regulatory law. We can't choose our own currency, set interest rates, not lose 1/3 of our incomes, antitrust, licensing, SEC, FTC, Sarbanes-Oxley - wow what a free market!
readthepaper 3 years ago
And if it wasn't for that regulation, we would be out far more than $700 Billion. Even with all the regulation we have now, look at how corrupt the mortgage industry is. How about the auto industry? Insurance?

two: the numeric value, as in 1+1=2
too: a given quantity
When you engage in an argument with another and you resort to name calling, profanity, racial overtones, etc. you have already lost that argument.

But the GOP treated Paul like crap, I remember them laughing at Dr. Paul during the debates and FOX News doing hatchet jobs on him. Ron Paul is probably laughing his ass off right now and he should. Reagan did his major in economics, he was more than an actor - the Goldwater wing of the party needs a young, fresh disciple.
thejobloshow 3 years ago
This is all true. I am a conservative and have seen Republicans in power do nothing to change the Left's total control over all our media, entertainment and education institutions and terimite funding in the Federal government. Cultural cleansing, airbrushing history and distorting the constitution, is absolutely necessary in order for socialists in both parties to keep control over our thinking and our options. We need another "contract with America" and education of our people.
Sara123312 3 years ago
You all don't get it... please tell me what the difference between the two parties is. Not what their rhetoric is, what is their actual difference in policy? McCain is a big-government political hack.

You should have voted any way but McCain.

How about trying to pander to LIBERTARIANS for a change, dumbass?
Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
Erg.

Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
Thats one of them, especially for hard drugs. I dont smoke pot anymore but certainly think it should be decrimialized. I think the conservative movement has to come to terms with America's celebrity lust (and I'd love for that phenomenon to be peaking, so it can now fall). Obama won the American Idol Presidential election. Thats it. On policy record McCain was not great but he was far better than BO. Mccain was a good guy with an unpopular image, and thats superficial but its why he lost.
FarFromEquilibrium 3 years ago
Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
Though I do admit to being VERY impressed by how well Paul did inspite of his view on the war on drugs. That gives me hope that the libertarians will have their time to shine eventually.
Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
As far as what caused him to lose... the liberal media shredding him was part of it, but I think Bush was the ultimate shadow over him. Inconsistency (BO is as guilty but the media won't fry him for it). His choice in Palin, while not stupid I think ultimately damaged him. And that conservative base was just not at all pleased with what they saw. Lack of enthusiasm. Even if we are winning the war now, people are also sick of it. That landed Obama appeal, even if he won't end it.

In four years, perhaps a Ron Paul like candidate will be elected. Until then, America is so screwed.

Nice analogy at the end there, God I'm glad boy bands are a thing of the past. Something to smile about given the state of American politics.

Erg. How pathetic. The only third party to break 1% in any state was Ron Paul (who wasn't even running) in Montana and NONE OF THE ABOVE (which was apparently on the ballot) in Nevada.
God bless those two states though.
