Thanks for your video! is very important for me! i have a problem with ableton and my mpd24, please help me! when i put my sample in my drum rack i can play whit my mpd but the sound play only when my finger is on the pad! when i only touch the pad the sample play for short time! i will, when i touch the pad, start the sample completly! you can help me? Hey dude I'm new to ableton, but is it possible to bus single drum tracks to an aux? So say you want to put reverb on a snare or something, is it possible to send just that snare to a reverb that you've got as a vst? I opened up that triangle box that you were talking about, but can't seem to find anything... thanks for the tutorial man : ) helps.

So odd problem arises. I Upgrade my abelton the other day and i think a setting was changed and i cannot create a drum rack. When i drag the rack onto a midi track it gives me an ( \ ) sign and nothing happens :-(. Any help. I tried this with my own created drum rack and defaults. I think it might have something to do with my launchpad... Thanks. message me :-)

Hey bboy spaz i have a question i have my samples perfectly chopped and ready to go. now i want to apply drum beats. i have drum beats i uploaded. where do i put the sample? Whenever I put them in the drum rack they dont play the right pitch and wont play a one-shot. and impulse will only play for a second. were does the sample go? thanks.

Any idea why i don't have a drum rack i can drag into the session. The only drum rack that comes up under instruments is a folder containing a bunch of different ones. I am running Live 8 APC Edition.

I recently purchased an AKAI MPK25, went into prefences for ableton, changed the settings to what your previous video showed on "samples". I am having a lot of trouble inserting a "drum rack" to a midi track. A go to the left side where it says drum rack and try and drag it to the MIDI like you show us, but it never drops in so it doesn't show the keys. Am I doing something wrong in this process? Also, I own Ableton Live Lite 8. Is there a difference between that n Ableton Live 8?

Hey Spaz, when I hook up my midi pad the banks are never alined up, they always stay on one octave. Do you know how to correct that?

Your tutorials are really good dude, thanks for putting the time in. A quick (and possibly stupid) question - in this tutorial you are using the session view. Can you bounce each individual track down to the arrange view for easier, errrr, arrangement? So bounce a track of your hats, one for kick & snare, one for other percussion etc? Is it just a case of soloing each track and bouncing down?

its easy you create an instance of drum rack, load all the samplez u want to each pad then click the save button in the top right corner of drumrack, you will be asked to name your drum kit and you can even create your own file which i called 'my kits' in the drum rack directory, its very simple to save any ajustment you make to an instrument in ableton, 4 me drum rack is better the battery3, and sampler is better then kontakt 4 kuz there so integraited into ableton suite.

brother ur tutorials are lite years ahead of any music teacher ive ever met, most tend to read frm books, its just a job to them, im not sayin there arnt a few good teacherz out there but most tend to be failed musicans or teacherz who arnt good enuf to teach in a private schools, so the goverment takes them on in arty type subjects at collage kuz basicly there subjects arent seen as being serious really, there seen as bein a bit of a laf, with less guide lines then say maths or social studyies.

went 4 a collage interview today for a muic course i 4t everything wud go fine 4 me, but as soon as the music teachers saw i had musical know how they started verbally attacking me i then proceeded to embarase the head of the music department by showing him how to quantise and use vsts in pro tools (very simple tasks he shud really know how to do but didn't)

the teachers were total unknolligefull arseholes and the who department was sponsored by digidesign (pro tools).

hmmm that's odd. I'd actually have to take a look at that, b/c that shouldn't be happening. And you're saying it's only happening when you use the drum rack??

I think you need to put the velocity up to 100% or whatever percentage you want on the 'device activator' (where you see the waveform and adjust the ADSL etc).
