T240 and 2494HM are about the same quality-wise but this one has 1920x1200, while 2494HM has 1920x1080 resolution. Also you can't pivot the T240.

Find whatever looks good to you, it won't the only thing that will shorten the life span would be having brightness up to full which truth me that no matter how high you turn that you will likely get rid of the TV before it dies.
