For the Florida prison to free him out in the dark on a rainy night without any means of support shows how cruel and corrupt people can be. The wicked jail governor should have been fired. He needs serious compensation like $1 million per year of kidnap, but you won't get it in the Ku Klux Klan state of Florida.
Actually, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault on the woman he was convicted of raping and pleaded guilty to attempted rape and attempted robbery on a whole other case. As for the juvenile trial and acquittal, he made the claim in court papers, but he was never actually asked to prove it. It might have happened, but I can't find a lawyer other than Barney's own who thinks it's likely.
Actually he was aquitted, then retried as an adult and found guilty. He was freed due to the Double Jeapordy violation. He is no longer associated with The Liberty Project.com

Interesting fact. On tv he was wearing a shirt with "DNA" printed on it. Whatever the case is, I'm really glad that he's free AND I'm glad for DNA testing.
@walk4trot2canter3 Yes he works with the Justice project now. I think that is the name of it. When I saw his shirt that was my conclusion that DNA evidence had freed him till I read more on it and heard them say in the other video that it took 38 years to find the records
Those cops decided to put the paper work back? not one person in that ( i hate niggers zone) tried to help a-14 year old, then they wanted to give him the death penalty???? what type of people do things like that? Those white men are evil, with a smile.
THANK GOD FOR DNA TESTING!!! The time Barney spent educating himself certainly shows! Hopefully he will be comfortable for the rest of his life, and I pray it's a long happy one. He deserves to be compensated for GREATLY because our justice system failed him MISERABLY! Did he ever take lie detector tests and what were those results? Also, how long was it from when the ERROR was discovered until he was freed? I'm so glad that I saw Barney's speaking engagement on CBS Morning Show today!
@now33 Well, what was it then? That's what the news is saying. It wasn't his word, because he tried being honest for years and years and that didn't seem to work.
@walk4trot2canter3 Incredibly it took that long to find the records of his acquittal in the Juvenal court system. I have found no reasons given for why it took so long. Once they were found he had to be released because of the Double Jeopardy clause in the constitution. There can be no credible reason for it taking this long you can Google his name and read more on him
yea i would b pretty pissed off if i went to jail for something i didnt do and they should give everyone that goes to jail for something they didnt do a lot of money
So let me get this straight. Mr. Brown was living a normal life until he was convicted for rape and armed robbery even though he was innocent. The court decided to give him 3 years in juvenile in trade for him begging for innocence? Yet he went to an adult jail like a man? ...Damn...I give Mr. Brown respect and love only...I wouldn't mess with him.
if i was him i would seek out the prosecutor and kill his whole family.i would make the prosecutor watch me kill his kids first .i hate the justice system i did time for a lie someone told to help police lock me up.i have no respect for police .
Fuck the police. Black, brown, white, yellow, red there all assholes who at some point in there childhood had something taken from them. Either that or they were losers in high school who know one cool wanted to hang or party with. The point is most cops take out there miserable little lifes out come, on the people.
@350ztech you are wrong for saying that...not all cops are bad cops.....Lets be honest...he is a 14 year old black....in Florida, 1970 (this still happens today, just more blatant then).... accused of rape and burglary....they even wanted to sentence him to death...a black person/cop would refuse to be involved in such mess. I am happy that he has been freed and the truth has surely set him free. I hope he gets compensated for all those years he lost.
