Stargate is one of my three favourite films, and the other two are from the same director. Roland Emmerich you are the best! And the soundtracks from David Arnold are also one of the best.
Me and my friend were playing minecraft. We went into a giant cave only using wooden swords and leather armor(Its a challenge) So we havnt died yet, We get 6 diamonds. Enough to make us each diamonds picks. We decide to go to the nether. We mine some obsidian. And have the frame in place. Before we go in, he plays this song. With my F&S I run and jump into it at the same time. He jumps with me. We run as soon as we get there...The Portal spawned in the air........Do I have to say more? EPIC.
Stargate = Epic of Gilgamesh (Ancient Sumerian/Babylonian story) An important Question: Was that story (Bible derived from it) an ancient science fiction tale? or something else...
I liked the movie alot, but the show became better once they figured themselves out. (I mean SG-1. Atlantis was awful in almost every way).
SG-1 (tied with Star Trek TNG) is my favorite scifi show ever. I think it did more for the Stargate universe than the movie could possibly have done. Some shows just water down the movie they were based on. This one took the franchise to a whole new level.
I would really like to see a proper seqeul to this film with Kurt Russle and the origional cast. SG1 started off pretty good but it tottally jumped the shark and turned to crap.
@Loliaz He did feel the music, and he said it made him want to study astrophysics. Just reading your comments up here, you're a prick. But thanks for the post none the less. Great song, great movie.
If i was mad, i would probaly be insulting you with the most childish words and write in caps. I aint mad, no matter how much you ask the same question.
@Loliaz irony is that you said probaly, which in it's self is just a misspelling of the word probably, which is still the incorrect word because it should be 'properly'. How about we just not feed the trolls eh?
NOTE: Probably and Probaly are both spelled correctly. As for proberly now thats mispelled and doesn't really mean anything, but folks still use it and if everyone knows the meaning it won't harm anyone.
I don't believe SGA were stupid, I believe it had intelligent action too. Have you even seen the first seasons of SG-1? That's stupid action. I am looking forward to SG Exctinction, which is the fourth movie in the Stargate franchise, and sums up the loose ends of SGA. The wraith and everything.
how can any one compare stargate to other movies theres nothing similar to stargate and startrek except for the fact that theres aliens and they both have star in there name stargate= # 1 movie ever
Stargate has beaten StarTrek in every thing they got, the first movie, Continuum, Arc of Truth, Atlantis, SG-1, Universe and they will beat StarTrek with the upcoming movie Stargate: Extinction! Believe me!
@ENTERtheCREATOR While they may have the same chords and some similar notes, it is not the EXACT same. Certain instruments at varying intervals are the main differences between this and the aformentioned scene you described. So, they are similar, but not the same...

I agree. I dont have nothing against read a good book, but I prefer SEE a sequel for one of my favorite movies than lost my time reading a damn book telling what happens after the events of the movie!
This perforamce was just mind blowing... considering that a relatively new composer had written this, who was working at a record store before he got the job to "score" Stargate, I'd say it's probably one of the most magnificent post-1950 classical compositions.
I couldn't agree more. I particularly love the relation to anthropology so to make all the history of the myth of Ra the more credible. Being a fan of Ancient Egypt history along with history of religions and their relation to one another, doubled with a fan of good sci-fi, which we don't find in trees nowadays, I've ruined a videotape a while ago and recently bought the DVD. There's no way to compare this masterpiece to the cheap series.
I cried when I heard this because there will never ever be another season of Stargate :'(
