I dunno if anybody has mentioned this yet, but in the beginning, the program was designed to get rid of old, uneconomical vehicles, in exchange for money, or credits towards a new vehicle. An effort to stabilize the economy, and save money in the future. In the end, our country actually paid more taking the vehicles in and scrapping them, than it would have just to leave the issue where it was. Obama is a retard, and his radical attempts to make himself look good is costing the US way too much.

Modern motors are making 500+hp, getting close to 30 mpg, are made of lighter materials , have drastically improved brakes, and suspention. some modern cars can pull a full G on a skidpad (or more) run 11's stock, and stop under 100ft from 60. crappy 60's stuff cant do any of that, their hp was even overated. look at the new 2011 ford mustang 5.0. NEW > old
