@TechRoyE, I disagree with you in terms of complexity, I think your confusing the fact that Dubstep's BPM is slower than most of Venetian Snares music and another aspect you fail to mention is the fact that a lot of the back ground ambiance in VS music is sampled hence the classical music here on this track where as most Dubstep must be created from scratch with fewer samples. If you slowed a VS track to Dubstep's BPM it wouldn't sound so complex and also take away all of VS samples, whats left?

@deejayalemus, I disagree with you on a couple of points, first of all you can produce an album with breakcore and jungle at the same time as some artists like shitmat does. Bongra is just hardcore jungle at the more extreme end of jungle. Jungle revolves solely around the amen break where as breakcores modus operandi revolves around scatter breaks, distortion and tendencies towards heavy laden bass and drum beats. This VS track purely revolves around the amen break so srry but it's jungle.

This isn't Breakcore, this is basically hybrid Jungle. When listening to the beats it's all jungle composition aka amen breaks with the snares and hi-hats tweaked slightly to give the sound a more personalized touch none the less it's still jungle.

The only real difference to this form of jungle as opposed to traditional raga-jungle and old school jungle is the use of classical music and melodic samples to give the song a more cinematic feel. I'll go eat my Frosties now.

@7u7ia7 Breakcore IS hybrid Jungle. If you're like me, you hate genre nazis, so sorry if I'm pedantic. The difference between this and regular jungle is the amen cut ups are more chaotic/random.  Listen to Shitmat and Bong Ra, it's the same style of beats. Venetian Snares was featured in the documentary "Notes On Breakcore", and even though he doesn't seem to be a fan of labelling himself, he is considered part of the genre. Feel free to disagree with me if you like. It's cool.

@ThePoorShogun Hey dude, I gotta disagree with you on that. I mean, I am a huge dubstep fan and listen to all the spectrum from early stuff like Skelator (most didn't even hear of him) through rusko, caspa and all the way to flux pavilion, doctor.

As far as musical complexity goes, Vsnares is much more complex. Dubstep is almost always 4/4ths and that's very easy to listen to and is much more "natural" to the ear. This track is 7/4ths and sounds very "unnatural" and is much more complex...
