I remember being home 'studying" during the Sydney Olympics, and watching Simon Fairweather win that gold medal. What a moment for an Aussie fan, one of my favourite from those games
@manx1324 You don't squeeze the handle of your bow to hold it as the motion of forming a fist rotates the bow sideways. You simply let the tension of the drawn string press the bow into the V of your thumb and index finger. Thus, when you release the string and the tension holding it in place, the bow rolls forward in the hand and the arrow flies true.
19:01 GOOD JOB!! Lol

why do they tip the bow forward after they release the arrow?
manx1324 1 year ago
@manx1324
i beleive if they dont they have to hold it back and that can cause the arrow's path to be slightly altered
..not sure though.

how many lbs of power those bows have?
freitasnetuno 1 year ago
@freitasnetuno the men are at about 50 and the women are about 35 lbs on average
thelarkin101 1 year ago
@thelarkin101 Thanks I've always been interested about the actual poundage of competition archers, I figured it would be about 45lb for men :-)
Mububban23 1 year ago
