Aww this is cute!! Our lab X does this, we have a blanket on ours to protect it from dog hairs.... the dog prefers to sleep under the blanket!!!! Oh well its her couch now lol

My Willie dog was always very particular were his various sheets were ..............they sort of make a nest, like a bird....lovely bueatiful dogs.

A responsible dog owner would just make him stay on the floor, but as a fellow weim owner (yes, there is a difference :) ), I understand the only real decision is which couch the weim owns and which ones you are allowed to share with them. :)

I heard they partially do this to make sure nothing (snakes, critters, bugs) arent in their sleeping spot. Our weim did the same till he was 100% comfortable

My dog does this with our couch. He jumps up onto it then lightly bites the couch, claws it, gets up and down a million times and eventually gets so frustrated he starts grunting. It's hilarious.

our female does that as well, but only on one stuffed animal. she gets the muzzle of it in her mouth and sucks on it. i've researched it and most responses are that it has a calming affect, like a child sucking on their thumb.

excellent!!! My weim Shadow does the same thing! Sometimes he will go thru all that trouble and then just lay on the floor or another couch!  I have been trying to get it on video though. it is true about looking for snakes... its so funny to watch.
