Dan Lashbrook 2001 Martin "Keb Mo'" setup - Before and After
Hi, Dan I have tell you I have been nothing but happy with this guitar. Yep I own the Keb Mo. I knew the guitar was much more than HD-28 that Martin makes today. I bought it for the special sound and tone. Since some know or not some spectacular guitars have had some extra work to make them what they are today. For example Neil Young's D45, D28 & D18 those as you can hear live or studio and are out of this world. It's still a Keb Mo but it's super charged. A keeper! Thanks Dan!! Luv Martin's
What is the point of having a guitar of any model if you can't get sound or tone, if you cannot hear the difference before and after, on this guitar you obviously need to take up the harmonica. The customer that had the guitar set-up is extremely happy with the guitar it has increased volume, and tone. If you live to be 100 you will never play a guitar as good as this KEB MO. Thank you very much
What's the point of buying the Keb Mo model if your just going to turn it into the Dan Lashbrook model? Nothing personal but Keb got a custom model for reason.
Dan - sounds great - when you describe "block and plates" behind the fingerboard that needed to come out - what are you referring to? the upper transverse brace? Thanks
Right,,, That cross brace is 1/2 an inch. The '3os Martins
had only a 5/16 cross brace. Also the Authentic D-18 has only a 5/16 cross brace and they hold up with no front plate. Martin on few guitars,, make them today with '30s specs.
Hey, awesome sound man. I just bought a Takamine EG440SC as my first acoustic. I wasn't aware that I'd need to have it setup when I bought it, and when I got home I noticed some fret buzz on a few of the frets on some select strings.
What should I ask for when I bring my guitar to my local shop and how much should I expect to pay for my set up?
COOL I have a new martin d16gt that I love. But looking to get a bone nut saddle and mabe bridge pins installed. Lucky for me I have a certified martin repair man that lives near me any advice? Guitar sounds great now but it can sound better. thanks dave n.c

It is still a KEB MO. If you had a super charged Mustang would you call it a Chevy???

I hear the difference. I'm just saying that it's no longer a Keb Mo model. That's all. I think it sounds great.

You keep telling yourself that. I'm sure Martin will be calling you soon.

Yes,,,,and the block that covers the truss rod cavity.

Very interesting - and you find that they are able to stand up to the string tension over time without the UTB? No concave tops?
