$100!?? You said the power cords were $20 each. So you're saying you got 3 umbrellas, 3 light stands, 6 worklights, clamps, light necks, bulbs, makeup and a suitcase for $60?
@KushNCorn I think I used my Canon t2i DSLR for this one but of course not my regular lights! I've used this for stills before too but you really have to mess with the white balance to get it right
@joecoz26 Hmm- well I have a chart about how to light a room but it's for any light kit not just this one. If you look at my "Muscles 4 Jesus" video you can see what it looks like in final product with a little bit of color correction. Let me know if you want to see the chart it's on my company blog
@ZmanZoo That's a good question I think so. I just didn't have anything i could use around the house that wouldn't melt... If you can get real gels then I think yes
this is a really usefull kit. I have a light stand, with an adaptor to have the led video lights or flash lights with an umbrella, i prefer to have battery powered lights becuase i do lots of external videography, not a lot indoors, but i have plans for internal short films in the future
i myself would like to know how you made the soft box work? thinking about taking your idea for a light kit...

You didn't show how you put the halogen lights in the soft box. That's what I really want to see!

Where is the DIY aspect of this

What kind of camera and lens did you use to record this video? and also is this kit good for stills also?

very nice kit!

This is the real deal of filmmaking! You don´t need the most expensive light kit to get good results! Good work man!

@triceramovieboy Thank ya! I did get a nice $200 kit to supplement this- there is some payoff in the nicer gear but hey $50 for a light ain't bad!

good kit. must get pretty hot?
DSLRCARBON 7 months ago
@DSLRCARBON Thanks- It definitely does get hot! Kind of a drawback but all lights get hot I suppose

Do you have any examples using your DIY light kit. Maybe a light setup? Becuase that is pretty cool.

could you put a blue gel in front of the halogen lights to fix the color temperature?
