Isn't it funny how many Americans ignorantly cry out "animal cruelty!" and put the rights of animals above the value of human life being a society that accepts abortions. Don't get me wrong, I'm not for animal abuse, but I think its disturbingly sick how in the society and governments of Westerners place dogs above conceived human babies. It's an animal, some cultures view it as as pets, others as food. The health reasons why not to eat a dog aren't much different from why not to eat pork.
also, I'm from Vietnam. i was born and raised in America. i visit Vietnam twice a year, every year. I have traveled from the north all the way down to the dirty south. No where and no one, i mean it, eats dog meat. You'd have to be way out in the ghetto or something. I don't even think that's a dog. and most people don't like dogs so there are a lot strays everywhere or in cages. even if it is a dog, look at the AMERICANS in this video LAUGHING at the animal being fried.

@kcryanful I am not too familiar with pig behaviour, but i do know that people keep pigs as pets. I think only farmed animals should be consumed, but i know that in korea and some parts of china there are actually farms where dogs are raised for human consumption just like cattle, sheep and other animals are raised in farms. I am okay with that, but not okay if they take dogs from the streets and just kill them for food. Personally i would never eat dog however, but that's their culture.

@kcryanful I am not too familiar with pig behaviour, but i do know that people keep pigs as pets. I think only farmed animals should be consumed, but i know that in korea and some parts of china there are actually farms where dogs are raised for human consumption just like cattle, sheep and other animals are raised in farms. I am okay with that, but not okay if they take dogs from the streets and just kill them for food. Personally i would never eat dog however, but that's their culture.

Most Asians now know that to keep animals happy and healthy before they are painlessly killed, means the meat maintains its healthy properties (like free range hens). Causing pain/stress to animals, secretes reversive/toxic properties into the blood/meat. Eating it is therefore detrimental to health/varility. @hofner20 do we treat pigs and cow well before we kill it? the last time i work at a slaughter house 25% of the pigs and cow arrive dead and 80% are cripple or deform from the homones, and how is it not animal cruelty when everyday we kill thousands of cats and dog

In countries like Vietnam, things like these are normal and isn't frowned upon their culture. There are some countries that practiced this, however controlled, like the Philippines.
