It's interesting to see how feminism has been used to justify the U.S. war in Afghanistan, based on the Taliban's terrible treatment of women. Despite this, the largest feminist organization in Afghanistan, RAWA (Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan), is strongly critical of the U.S. bombing of the country, and asserts that the Northern Alliance (our friends) is just as bad as the Taliban in treatment of women.
