I have one of those, and I´m the most frustrated person with it. Its a terrible design and when comes to image it only looks good on outside. Daylight. Really. Inside, with no lights, tripods, all the extra illumination paraphernalia it sucks.

I was wondering If this camera is better then the Kodak Zi8 For filming sports like Longboarding. If you are not sure what longboarding is. Longboarding is skateboarding but without tricks. The footage would be filmed outside and I would use zoom on regular basis. Which camera is better would you say. Also I have a Kodak Zi8 Portable Video Camera. But the thing is that the video doesnt edit in Windows Movie Maker. Which means I cant really edit shit. Will Sony work in windows movie maker.

Try to record 720p with 60 frames and then do the slow-mo for water fall :)

Rob, it just does not seem fair to your efforts to be hand-holding for a demo like this. Camera shake makes the viewers uneasy and upsets the little camera's auto focus efforts, apparently. Tripod some day? I use an inexpensive, fluid-head Velbon, but any tripod or monopod or string you step on, etc, would make these videos so much better, yes?

1080p is alot shakey an all ..... i think 720 is the best in image quality..i think in 2011model would be alot better an 1080p..but 720 is the best for this year model and this unit!

The problem is when I´m filming a video and I´m filming a certainly object or even a person the camera not get focus it, everything that is shooting by the camera stayed blurred when you are more than 2 meters to the target shooting whit 1x zoom, this is, without zoom! The movie will only be focused when it zooms too close a specific person or object (with 3x - 5x optical zoom)!

Can you help me?... When you make a video, don´t you have this type of problem?? If you don´t mind, answer please!

@jmgmad When I was testing the camera, I usually started by zooming as close as I could to the subject and waiting for the camera to focus. Once it was focused, I pulled back and shot the video.

@jmgmad Does your camera have a macro lens? It probably does, which will focus on anything within a few feet of the camera (for closeup shots)

Turn off the macro mode/lens and it should fix your problem

@iMacAppReviews I don't think the waterfall likes your comment, so the two of you are probably even. On the serious side, there's bound to be some compression as it's being recorded (in the mp4 format) and once again from YouTube. I don't think the small mic on this camera (noted in my review) can reall ypick up the full spectrum of sound of a waterfall, but I felt it did an amicable job.

The Flip Ultra HD is more compact and has more user-friendly software, but doesn't have a memory card slot or a screen that flips (so if you're a blogger you can't see yourself). The Sony CM5 offers a 270 degree flipping screen and memory card slots, but is bulkier and I've heard that the software doesn't work well with Macs. They're in the same price range so it really depends on what features you'd rather have: portability, software ease-of-use, etc. I personally like the CM5 better.

The old Webbie camcorder the MHS-CM1 actually records 1440 x 1080 resolution. Is the Bloggie MHS-CM5 the same resolution or does it record 1920 x 1080 natively?
