the pores are too big. less is more when it comes to texturing peoples faces. the iris' could also use more detailing. and it would look more realistic if the eyes were moving faster, as someone else said.
@soldieroscar both of you are correct. if i had to fix anything on here it would be some of the coloring. doesn't the pupil have tiny sharp edges that pierce into the iris? also maybe adding about 20-30 very thin streaks of yellow into the iris would make it look awesome.
I need to know how to keep the eyes in the socket and lock it to the armature, my problem is that when I move my model around, the yes stay in place, but I didn't give them an armature because, I'm not sure how to rig the eyes, please help! BTW I LOVE the work you're doing here.
Awesome work, the textures really impressed me, though I think you have too much normal on the eye... and you should probably add a mirror effect to the pupil, if you haven't yet, but you know that for sure, I'm a Blender noob compared to you! Also I think she winks too slow. Is there really no way to script the auto-size based on light level with Python? I still have so much to learn, thx for your vids.
lots and lots of layers on photoshop file for each texture... I had to go even higher res to duplicate all the cracks in the skin... ill post a video for it soon
WOW..great modeling and texturing....The only thing i have a problem with is when the eyeballs move direction the eye lids move as well, fix that and its PERFECT!
I have a question for you, I don't understand the blender new particle systems, old tutorials in the internet are inapplicable due to tools changing places and names in the interface. Can you point me? For example, how did you make the Eyelash? I sure you used the particle system.
Yea I did, umm weight painting is still the same, you have to designate where you want the hair to grow. Since the hair is along a thin strip you are going to have to have some really close parallel lines so that it doesnt grow where it shouldnt. then set the thing to hair, set the velocity so it grows to the length you want, and use the hair tools to trim and get the shape you want. I can write pages on just those steps... and on the hair material too... to fully cover it.
Thank you for reply. Can you post a link to some updated tutorial about make hair?. One that explains the new particle system, I cannot follow old tutorials due to changes in the interface, I can't find the tools mentioned in those tutorials.
Man, I still can't believe that you're going to release this model for free when you're working so hard on it, I will have a really good reason to use Blender again when the day comes :-)
Damn, she's got pock marks on her eye lids. Okay, maybe a bit much, and the lens needs to be a little more clear, and the whites need some blood veins, just a tad. Otherwise pretty good job.
Hmm... love the bup mapping! Where did you get the reference images, or did you make them yourself? The only real things I can say are that: The pores, when zoomed in on the eyes are a bit large; and the pupil seems to expand to the left a bit ore than the right. Still a whole lot better than I can do. Can't wait for the tuts!
Im making them myself, after looking at hundreds and thousands of images. I'll make all the photoshop files available when I release the model too....
I guess that the way you get the iris bigger, is by putting a video texture
bouchandre 1 year ago
@bouchandre nope, i rigged some bones to it. An easier way may be to just create some a couple of Key-frames.

Eyeballs don't move slowly, they flick quickly from one object to another...

not if they are following a slow object

just add two more bones for the eyes and parent that to the bone that moves your head, so the bones for the eyes will move along with it.

if you move the eye, the lid (skin) will always move with it .. and the eye has deepness (volume)...
it is good, but it does not look realistic at all. But great work anyway ... ^^
Have a nice day

I read your comment about the eyelid texture, I would also like to see the eyeball rolling through the eyelid, it would be a lot more realistic....

I do have to make those smaller and add a few more..... the lens is transparent, only reflection is calculated.

ps, the blood veins are there, but the video is blured so much when uploaded here that it makes them fade out.
