I was thinking about picking up a Glock 30 as my first sidearm. Nope. I'm going with the XD45. A beautiful gun. Shit, I'm gonna be spending more on my side arm than my rifle, but fuck it. I got a question though, are those safety mechanisms reliable? As in do they sometime hesitate when your trying to fire it?

@jeremy6941 I like the 1911 a lot but the XDM has it beat in overall weight, a much higher mag capacity, and ease of field stripping. The 1911 is still sexier looking in my eyes though, LOL!
@jeremy6941 I shoot 1911's really well and generally don't shoot 9mm's and .40's well, but this gun is GREAT! Nice feel, good balance, nearly perfect trigger, very accurate. Love it!
@macbain59 I think you mean a weapon with a live round in the chamber. I do it all the time with my XD's. Just refrain from depressing the grip safety and it wouldn't fire even if the trigger caught on something.
I have the service model and I love it. I Havnt tried concealing it yet since I just got it today. But I think It could be done effectively especially in the winter under a jacket. Then again with a jacket you could conceal a 12 gauge
As an owner of the XD40 tactical (and being tall and skinny in hot weather) it is NOT that concealable. The extra barrel length and grip length make it tough not to print. I love my XDt as much as you, great HD or winter carry weapon! Just got to shoot the XD40 subcompact last weekend, and it was almost like shooting my weapon. That, I think, will be my summer carry!!! Happy shooting!!!
Dude i so want the XDm in 9 mm. Just trying to save up for one. I picked one up, and my first thought was, holy crap that feels good. I have fired Glocks, but the grip is something that just really sucks for me, that is the only reason i dont like glocks. Springfield got it right with the XDm. Cant wait to get one.

I don't agree though with aaron0313 when he says its easily concealed, it may be for him, but don't be mislead it's a big gun. Great range gun or if your'e walking around in the woods, stuff like that, lots of bullets 17 rounds 20 in 9mm, very accurate or rather very easy to shoot (there all accurate)

The ammo capacity means nothing to me. I live in California, and you cant have more than a 10 round magazine in a handgun (or rifle for that matter!) in this state. So Im liking the .40 cal here for sure. Although I dont know what the diff between the tactical and standard model. I dont need the rail. How much does this thing run?

I have both an XDm and several Glocks. Anyone who complains about the grip saftey on an XD or XDm is just a dumbass. Its virtually not there when you grip the gun... the only way anyone could have a valid complaint is if they were trying to fire the gun with their feet.

They call it Basic Training for a reason. It's you basic military training. In essence you learn basics on how to be a soldier no matter what branch you join. The Marines just like to make it a bigger deal. I doubt you even have a clue what comes after basic training. I'll give you a hint. Here's the acronym for it A.I.T. Which assuming you will Google this, you will find out it of course varies with which M.O.S you have chosen or are assigned. Oh no there goes another clue.

@Callabris just because his name is sewn on the RIGHT side of his uniform or no unit patch or no MOS badge, does not mean anything. many of my old uniforms are now patchless/nameless/ect. they are simple hunting / camping clothes i could give two shits about. And if he left his name/unit/mos patches on, as soon as he dawned 3 articles of G.I. clothing he is considered IN-UNIFORM and wearing rank/unit/ect. maybe he just knows his rules and regs.... maybe he is a ducher...... who cares

That's a nice hunting outfit. Those aren't military issue, If you were in the service and in your B.D.U's (Battle Dress Uniform) you would have a Unit patch or something of the like on your left shoulder and that flag on your right would have some color.
Lets quit playing soldier and grow up a bit shall we. "Muzzle flip" that's a new one. It's called recoil as you mentioned before.

The ammo capacity means nothing to me. I live in California, and you cant have more than a 10 round magazine in a handgun (or rifle for that matter!) in this state. So Im liking the .40 cal here for sure. Although I dont know what the diff between the tactical and standard model. I dont need the rail. How much does this thing run?
