Now, I love His World. I had SA2 and it ROCKED. I loved it, so I bought the new ones. I was disappointed, but I continue to buy them in the vain hope they make a good one.

His World is a great song, but the Brawl version/Crush 40 song is FAR better. Plus the final battle remix. And... Best video game song ever...? No way. The Zelda Theme, Rainbow Road, hell, Dr. Wily's theme is better. I'd say number 8 max.... Silly fanboys ;-)

I mean, music is as good as you want it to be. Everyone has different tastes, and everyone has a piece or brand of it that they like over everyone else. Thus is it hard to create a list anyone would agree on unless the music was conceptionally written and ocherstarted well etc. But saying that, my personal favorite song from any game would have to be the Main theme from Ace Combat 6. I'm surprised that Super Mario Galaxy got no representation (BUOY BASE FTW!). Also, I have a much fonder recollection of the Rainbow Road theme from 64. One-Winged Angel was kind of obvious, as was the original Super Mario Music and the Legend of Zelda/Halo Theme. SSBB's theme coming in was a bit of a surprise. And as for His World... you're absolutely right, the game sucked but the song was great. Now if they could rewrite the lyrics so that they didn't suck...
