One inaccuracy though. Maddow says that russai was bombing the oil infrasctructure. Thats almost true. they sent several missiles along an oil pipeline that hit in a V shape aroind the lipelime. it is unclear if they were meant to hit or not, but they probably were.

Yes. He praises the US Combat troops all the time. Thats why Veterns association people are pleased to come on his show. He praises the US constitution all the time (which is why he regularly has a professor of constitutional law on) and his guiding principle is rule of law, which is a very american pronciple.

You already spend 48% of the worlds total spend on weapons. Thats right, for every dollar the entire world spends on weapons, the US spends 48 cents. You already are pretty much in a war production situation, which is one of the reasons you need to keep using up munitions as otherwise they would stockpile and there would no need to buy more, and the arms industry profits would collapse. So a nice "war" against guys on camels does the trick

Yes, however, our GDP is 13 trillion. We spend 600 billion on the military every year. I am sure if we wanted to we could bump that percentage well over 100% to supply the drafts. I don't think we are truly in a war production situation. Just because we spend more does not really mean that. Just means we have the $ to buy lots of.. stuff. When America is converted into a war factory like it was in WW2, then I say we are in a war production situation. Thank you for your mature response : )

I will say though that we are a militaristic nation and we do spend an insane amount of money on supporting friendly nations (Israel for example), war, defense, and the likes. I would like to see half of that money put towards things that could improve America economically. Even with a 300 billion budget, we would still outdo the second highest speding military nation (China) by about 2 times as much.

Trust me, the Iraq war had little to do with the arms industry. It had a lot to do with our presidents personal disdain towards saddam, oil, and further imposing our government on another nation.
