I'm a runner but due to an injury, I was "forced" to start swimming a few months ago. My kick is absolutely horrendous. I can do the side flutter but when I'm flat, I could barely move. Even when I'm using a kick board, I'm barely moving at all.
I already practice on a few of these leg drills however, i will try out the dolphin kick on the back. I also find leg drills with flippers work well, whats your opinion on the use of flippers.
Great information here in this video. The information that Dave Scott can impart is fantastic. A must for every swimmer.

does it hurt to do these drills with zoomers? My kick is sooooo bad i don't get any propulsion.

This was actually a quite good video. Nicely made and understandable and also wellincorporated "why" reasons to doing these drills.

I knew that Dave Scott was good at Triathlon; I did not expect him to be SO good at teaching

well you were "forced" to start swimming. I think running is for losers, and swimming is for winners.

Thanks for sharing. I actually needed that. Recovering from a major leg surgery. This will help. I've been doing it improperly for years.
Thanks.

very good!!! My coach makes us do butterfly with flippers until we know the stroke properly and can kick well.
thegreatone12345678 3 years ago
ours don't because when you swim in a meet it makes you feel slow
