  • And my could these CBS radio reporters write! No ad libs, no off the cuff remarks. It's an art completely missing from electronic reporters.

  • An incredibly brave and influential journalist...I wish there were broadcasters of his stature around now...sadly, alas, none

  • Why are there no reporters of his class anymore? The irony being now that we really need them too with such PR spunned out corporate protectionism political crap that passes for news these days.

  • Was reading "Citizens of London" and came across a reference to this man's story. Great book!

  • What an incredible power of description that man had! I can see it all just by what he says. I was born 5 years after the war ended, but I remember there were still ruins and big holes around even then - simply because there was so MUCH devastation - and rationing didn't completely end till 1957!

  • Murrow was very influential in helping to 'psych up' a reluctant America into doing our fair share in WWII. Pearl Harbor was of course the clencher, but Murrow was gradually helping our isolated land understand the danger overseas. Thank you so much for sharing this.
