problem with hon is it's just a shitstorm of ultimates. there's no real skill involved in this game, seeing as you can get one shotted by quite a few heroes, even if youre extremely careful. too many instagib mechanics = not a good game.

1: This game is a "remake" of DotA, as the WC3 engine cant support it this well.

2: It is NOT a "ripoff", they got permission from Icefrog to create the game in the first place.

3: The graphics are vastly superior.

4: DotA currently has more heroes than HoN, DotA has also been out FAR longer than HoN.

5: To people who say it requires no skill compared to DotA. You are probably comparing competetive DotA with low rated public games.

I only want to mention that the graphics only looks better but not really better, the land scape is 2D just like original starcraft, I didn't actually play the beta so I can't tell if the heros are fake 3D model or real 3D model, but graphics are only for people to look anyway, so 2D or 3D is not that important.

If I were to pick one between HoN and LoL, Id probably go with LoL, even though it has a funny abbreviation :P. I mean HoN is just DotA, they didnt even bother with the War3 control panel. I really don't see your logic here.

It IS DotA, gameplay is the same, heros are (mostly) the same, items are the same. The difference is that it is no longer rooted in the old WC3 engine.

The netcode is vastly improved, if one person is lagging they won't drag the game down for everyone, and if you do lag out you have a 5 minute grace period to rejoin. Leavers are rare instead of the norm because of stat tracking, the UI is improved, and the graphics are gorgeous.
