As a Seed fan I'm just going to say that any direct fight between CE suits and AD suits (the Gundam's specifically) will end in the complete destruction of the CE suits, they just aren't on the same level as the 00 Gundams with Trans-Am (which is, imo, on of the most broken abilities in recent series).
Maybe if CE had gone on longer the tech would stand a chance against AD Gundams, but Destiny sucked so bad that it pretty much killed the era, which is a shame as the timeline was awesome.

More like 5%. Techwise, the Strike Freedom is barely level with the Throne Zwei. The 00 Raiser could tear apart its UPGRADE and still come out smelling fresher than daisies. 00 Qant? The Strike Freedom may as well be unarmed. This number can fluctuate depending on Setsuna's state of being because Innovator Setsuna would likely be able to take down Kira without even trying.
For clarification, the Throne Zwei is a gen 3 tech gundam and is essentially Strike Freedom's better. While lacking a siege weapon, it carries 8 fangs that are smaller than the DRAGOONs and are operational in gravity, has actual beam resistance (with a lighter alloy), better propulsions (360 degree motion, no limits), and has no overlapping weapons. The 00 Qant is a 4th generation suit. You do the math.

Setsuna would probably destroy Kira in close quarters combat due to his melee skills and the GN-Sword III but Kira would probably destroy Setsuna in long range combat as the 00-raiser doesn't have good artillery/ranged weapons like the Strike Freedom.

I'm a fan of both 00 and Seed, MS don't make the fight but it certainly DOES help, a lot sometimes as seen in the WHOLE season 1 of Gundam 00 and season 1 of SEED. Take note from the 00 movie, EVERY new mass production MS (GN-XIV, Braves) created in the movie can take on second season 00 Gundams. The Gadelaza makes Kira's beam spam look amateurish with it's 100+ fangs. Better piloting helps but you won't win a battle with a outdated and outmatched MS.

Better question would be if both of them had a Destiny Gundam. Setsuna (post innovation) vs. Shinn (using SEED).
The thing about Gundam 00 is that its really hard to tell why Setsuna why so dominant over other suits. Was it because 00 Raiser was a killer suit or was it because of his piloting skills (post innovation) or both..... I really dono about him.

Same could be said for the other side. Seed Mode isn't unbeatable, it's just a method of strengthening your pilotting skills. On the other hand, we have innovation which effectively does the same thing in battle. The difference? The technology used by Innovators are geared so heavily to suit their skills that it literally becomes a one sided battle. You can really do nothing but stare in awe when Shaman is controlling over 100 individual fangs at once.
@Havok5704 Of course, in personal preferences, someone is going to say that their fave. is going to win. But really, it comes down to the pilots skill in battle. Setsuna was trained to fight in wars, and grew up fighting them. All of the cast that had Gundams in 00 were trained for those situations. All of them could easily take on the cast of seed. Only one that would have a slight problem would be hallelujah, but even he would win in the end against the strike freedom and the rest of the seed.
@Havok5704 Well, list your facts that you have that would support your opinion. I'm not trying to argue or anything, I just think this is an interesting topic to have a debate on. I seriously think that since Setsuna is the better pilot, and has a better model, he would easily over power Kira and Freedom. Lockon Stratos(both Lyle and Niel) wouldn't even have to worry about Freedom's beam spamming since he could cloak his gundam and snipe it from a far.

Setsuna went up against the throne Gundams, the false gundams that were specifically built to battle against the gundams, there was also Graham Acher and Ali Sachez who's skills with flags/other mobile suits were a lot better than most of the characters in the seed line. Also, Setsuna grew up fighting in war. and the 00 line is superior to Seed line. Like I said before, they were all chosen to pilot according to their skills, and against kira, they'd win.
@Havok5704 Bro.. you need to watch both seasons of double 00 again. Hell, he starts out fighting against an army after he completely humiliates one of the top flag pilots. Using a giant switch blade called the GN Sword.. which requires him to get close to his opponents to use. Kira had it easy. Setsuna would dominate and shit all over him with ease.. Just sayin' bro.
Season 1, his strength is in Melee. Which means that he was taking down units piecemeal without using his rifle. He's a horrible shot, but he was able to rack up a huge body count without the need to use a gun.
Season 2, he fights opponents piloting Gundam level suits and he still has the ability to systematically take them out. Kira on the other hand stops being so effective once he meets an opponent closer to his tech level.
Movie, CB Flag, 3 GN-XIII, no contest. Setsuna rules.
@Machdude And it becomes even more impressive when you consider the spec difference between Setsuna's CB Flag and those Orbital Defense GNXIIIs. Performance difference is tramendous, equipment quality gap is tramendous. I'd wish to see a pilot who fight in such an underpowered unit against such superior MSs.

You gotta remeber that Kira, as a pilot, is on par with Setsuna and Amuro. Nope, I think there's an equal chance that Kira can win against Setsuna in a Gundam fight.
@VaizardN Amuro and Kira had no battle experience before they became gundam pilots, Setsuna and the other pilots of the 00 series did. Kira would be able to take on Amuro, yes. But Setsuna has the skills to be able get passed Kira's beam spam attacks and would completely wreck the Freedom in the process.

And you are misjudging the tech level. Kira fights in the best against mass produced morons. Setsuna fights elite machines by the second season that were inferior, but still close to his level of tech. By the final season, he was ripping those very suits in a grunt mech. On the other hand, Kira proves to be a fairly poor pilot without his beam spam. In fact, he relies too much on his ability. Compared to Athrun, he's average. At least Athrun can kick ass in a ZAKU.
@Machdude i agree.. but, strike gundam has also the same level with a zaku units.. and kira starts in less experienced soldier level.. see how he killed miguel using a GIN unit.. but before that strike gundam has exchangeable weapon to begin with..
No, the Strike is better than the standard Zaku in combat (what limits it is that certain striker packs make him less than optimal in certain areas). It was outdated for an ace unit but it was not something that was obsolete on a mass scale and it was easily better in performance than the grunt mooks of its time. Given his first fight, the guy in the Gin probably thought he was a natural and just charged in.
@Havok5704 - Seed mode does not "enhance" (watch your spelling please) its user's five senses nor his ability to pilot a mobile suit. It only enhances his situational awareness, provide extreamly fast information processing, and may give a sort of adrenalin rush, all of these are useful in a combat situation.
If SEED mode does everything that you said then Cagalli would have mastered piloting Strike Rouge. Also, its Veda not veta, Innovator not inovater, mobile suit not moble suit.
00 raiser vs SF isn't a good matchup. 00 raiser is one of the deadliest close range gundams ever while SF is a long range spammer. 00 raiser could close up to SF in seconds with its quantizing and destroy SF close range. V2 AB vs SF would be interesting. Dont know any interesting matchups for 00 though...
@JerBear772 God Gundam is a super robot though, 00 wouldnt stand a chance. I think Destiny vs 00 Raiser would be good now that i've given it more thought. Destiny is pretty well decked out for melee. Wings of Light is kinda similar to 00's quantizing and they both have good swords. Decent pilots too.
@JerBear772 I forgot about Justice/Infinite Justice. That would also be a good fight, though I think Destiny would still put up a better fight than Justice/Infinite Justice.

Even without their Gundams, Setsuna would still clobber Kira. The man's been fighting his entire life, literally and he will kill unlike Kira. Plus Trans-Am would annihilate Strike Freedom anyways.
I'll touch upon the pilot's special abilities. Setsuna's Innovator status makes more sense than Kira's SEED mode and his Ultimate Coordinator status. They at least bothered to explain Innovators where as the SEED mode and Ult. Coordinator was left into the unexplained. And the SEED mode is nothing more than a power up mushroom and a plot device for the "main hero". I mean why the fuck does Kira, Athrun, Shinn, Lacus(why does she even have it?) and Cagalli (who isn't even a coordinator).

@RonathonCharlie He was fine in SEED, but in SEED Destiny he was no more than a Gary Stu in God Mode. And on top of that, he starts out as a secondary character in the first half of the show, but then he steals the spotlight from Shinn (main character of the first half) and becomes the show's new protagonist while the writers turn Shinn into a suddenly and inexplicably incompitent villain.
@RonathonCharlie yeah kira all of a sudden had a god complex in SD then he was given the most powerful suit in the show just because he is the main character and lets not get started on the plot armor
@RonathonCharlie the suit itself isnt bad it has some amazing features although the beam spam thing is annoying considering that's all it has been show to do except for a few parts. Its just that kira is given this powerful suit and is arguably the worst gundam pilot not named loran (who has the most powerful suit)
@panthernaruto Yeah the beamspam was annoying but what else did SF have? Literally aside from the rail cannons the SF had only beam weapons. Not counting meteor of course.

@SevenSwordsExia First of id say if anything Athrun was the main character at the start the point of most of destiny was to show zafts point of view for a change and for main character id say cuz Shinn was basically evil already before Kira was in the show yet and the story kept going back to Kira Athrun and Cagalli but i will say Shinn never really left being one of the main characters he just wasnt the hero

Other way around. Strike Freedom is too clunky. Slower (yes it is AND heavier), weaker (The Callidus is its only siege weapon while the 00 can destroy warships with the GN sword II rifle mode), Less output (twin drive system), gravitationally challenged (it can't even use its Dragoons in Gravity), and oh yes, flawed in design (it only reaches its maximum speed when Dragoons are deployed). As it is, even the specs of the THRONES are better. Trans-Am raiser seals the deal.

S. Freedom loses against the CHERUDIM. GNHW/B has 9 + 6 Bits and his rifle so either way, Kira is outgunned. This is not counting Trans-AM where things go nuts.
It can't even beat the Cherudim in firepower, what chance does it have against the Zabanya? Especially since the Zabanya can carry as many rifle bits as it wants provided its drive can support them. Kira wishes he can be this spam happy.

I wouldn't say the accuracy bit (Kira has that Aimbot Mcbeamspam machine that lets him magically shoot at robot body parts). But it is all in the tech level. The best Gundams from Seed would not eclipse the likes of the second-third generation gundams (Astraea, Plutone) while the ones from SD would be closer to slightly better than 3rd gen. The Movie units of Gundam 00 is the equivalent of something straight out of Turn A (where everyone is carrying the equivalent of the Buster Rifle).

@Machdude It's not 'canonicaly' strongest since the so called potential of the suit never came to life outside of side, non-anime materials. Any Gundam fan treats it at best as a 'grey zone'. Don't use it as an argument in a serious discussion or fans will simply laught you out.
Its tech far exceeds that of which the other gundams in existence. Even within the constraints of the show, the technology incorporated within it are more advanced than anything that is broadcasted thus far. Ever read the tech specs? Its reactor output alone dwarfs even the most advanced gundams in UC. Throw in the moonlight butterfly which can dismantle technology with nanomachines (no other main series Gundam has this), yeah it's the strongest. Forget noncanon, the CANON is already the best.

Their tech level would match something for a 3rd gen GN suit. I'm not saying they are more powerful but the Strike Freedom at the very least rivals some of the 3rd gen suits because of the technology incorporated. Now if you ignore Trans-AM, a lot of the suits in SD do have particularly notable innovations like the beam umbrella. And you overestimate the 1st and 2nd generation. The particle efficiency of those machines make them far inferior even with beam weapons.
I never referred to the 00 Gundam. The best of Seed Destiny is on the same level as the 3rd generation suits prior to the second season. The 00 Gundam is overkill.

Why are even gundam fans arguing whose the stronger one? Can't they just accept that each is strong in their own universe? Like OWN universe? Hell, this is one of the reasons why Ngee Khiong gave up on all of the gundam community.
Having no knowledge of whom this person you speak of is, but I do know that it's sad that he let a little of over extremists beat him down to the point of submission. Granted I have hit those levels, but I mainly do it for the sake of arguing ,it can be rather fun.
As for comparing, it's human nature to compare, nothing new there. Besides, it's not just Gundam fans that compare, it's everywhere, look at comic book nerds and their whole "Versus" threads.

I'm a fan of both 00 and Seed, MS don't make the fight but it certainly DOES help, a lot sometimes as seen in the WHOLE season 1 of Gundam 00 and season 1 of SEED. Take note from the 00 movie, EVERY new mass production MS (GN-XIV, Braves) created in the movie can take on second season 00 Gundams. The Gadelaza makes Kira's beam spam look amateurish with it's 100+ fangs. Better piloting helps but you won't win a battle with a outdated and outmatched MS.

Better question would be if both of them had a Destiny Gundam. Setsuna (post innovation) vs. Shinn (using SEED).
The thing about Gundam 00 is that its really hard to tell why Setsuna why so dominant over other suits. Was it because 00 Raiser was a killer suit or was it because of his piloting skills (post innovation) or both..... I really dono about him.

Same could be said for the other side. Seed Mode isn't unbeatable, it's just a method of strengthening your pilotting skills. On the other hand, we have innovation which effectively does the same thing in battle. The difference? The technology used by Innovators are geared so heavily to suit their skills that it literally becomes a one sided battle. You can really do nothing but stare in awe when Shaman is controlling over 100 individual fangs at once.

@Havok5704 Of course, in personal preferences, someone is going to say that their fave. is going to win. But really, it comes down to the pilots skill in battle. Setsuna was trained to fight in wars, and grew up fighting them. All of the cast that had Gundams in 00 were trained for those situations. All of them could easily take on the cast of seed. Only one that would have a slight problem would be hallelujah, but even he would win in the end against the strike freedom and the rest of the seed.

Setsuna went up against the throne Gundams, the false gundams that were specifically built to battle against the gundams, there was also Graham Acher and Ali Sachez who's skills with flags/other mobile suits were a lot better than most of the characters in the seed line. Also, Setsuna grew up fighting in war. and the 00 line is superior to Seed line. Like I said before, they were all chosen to pilot according to their skills, and against kira, they'd win.

Season 1, his strength is in Melee. Which means that he was taking down units piecemeal without using his rifle. He's a horrible shot, but he was able to rack up a huge body count without the need to use a gun.
Season 2, he fights opponents piloting Gundam level suits and he still has the ability to systematically take them out. Kira on the other hand stops being so effective once he meets an opponent closer to his tech level.
Movie, CB Flag, 3 GN-XIII, no contest. Setsuna rules.

But Setsuna has the skills to be able get passed Kira's beam spam attacks and would completely wreck the Freedom in the process.

And you are misjudging the tech level. Kira fights in the best against mass produced morons. Setsuna fights elite machines by the second season that were inferior, but still close to his level of tech. By the final season, he was ripping those very suits in a grunt mech. On the other hand, Kira proves to be a fairly poor pilot without his beam spam. In fact, he relies too much on his ability. Compared to Athrun, he's average. At least Athrun can kick ass in a ZAKU.

No, the Strike is better than the standard Zaku in combat (what limits it is that certain striker packs make him less than optimal in certain areas). It was outdated for an ace unit but it was not something that was obsolete on a mass scale and it was easily better in performance than the grunt mooks of its time. Given his first fight, the guy in the Gin probably thought he was a natural and just charged in.

@Havok5704 - Seed mode does not "enhance" (watch your spelling please) its user's five senses nor his ability to pilot a mobile suit. It only enhances his situational awareness, provide extreamly fast information processing, and may give a sort of adrenalin rush, all of these are useful in a combat situation.
If SEED mode does everything that you said then Cagalli would have mastered piloting Strike Rouge. Also, its Veda not veta, Innovator not inovater, mobile suit not moble suit.

00 raiser vs SF isn't a good matchup. 00 raiser is one of the deadliest close range gundams ever while SF is a long range spammer. 00 raiser could close up to SF in seconds with its quantizing and destroy SF close range. V2 AB vs SF would be interesting. Dont know any interesting matchups for 00 though...

Wings of Light is kinda similar to 00's quantizing and they both have good swords. Decent pilots too.

I'll touch upon the pilot's special abilities. Setsuna's Innovator status makes more sense than Kira's SEED mode and his Ultimate Coordinator status. They at least bothered to explain Innovators where as the SEED mode and Ult. Coordinator was left into the unexplained. And the SEED mode is nothing more than a power up mushroom and a plot device for the "main hero". I mean why the fuck does Kira, Athrun, Shinn, Lacus(why does she even have it?) and Cagalli (who isn't even a coordinator).

All Kira and Strike Freedom do is spam beam attacks, no skill involved there and Setsuna's skill + the 00's speed, power, and manouverabillity could easily over power Kira's spamming, thus rendering the Strike Freedom useless. Other way around. Strike Freedom is too clunky. Slower (yes it is AND heavier), weaker (The Callidus is its only siege weapon while the 00 can destroy warships with the GN sword II rifle mode), Less output (twin drive system), gravitationally challenged (it can't even use its Dragoons in Gravity), and oh yes, flawed in design (it only reaches its maximum speed when Dragoons are deployed). As it is, even the specs of the THRONES are better. Trans-Am raiser seals the deal.

The best Gundams from Seed would not eclipse the likes of the second-third generation gundams (Astraea, Plutone) while the ones from SD would be closer to slightly better than 3rd gen. The Movie units of Gundam 00 is the equivalent of something straight out of Turn A (where everyone is carrying the equivalent of the Buster Rifle).

@Machdude It's not 'canonicaly' strongest since the so called potential of the suit never came to life outside of side, non-anime materials. Any Gundam fan treats it at best as a 'grey zone'. Don't use it as an argument in a serious discussion or fans will simply laught you out.

Its tech far exceeds that of which the other gundams in existence. Even within the constraints of the show, the technology incorporated within it are more advanced than anything that is broadcasted thus far. Ever read the tech specs? Its reactor output alone dwarfs even the most advanced gundams in UC. Throw in the moonlight butterfly which can dismantle technology with nanomachines (no other main series Gundam has this), yeah it's the strongest. Forget noncanon, the CANON is already the best.

Phase shift, beam spams, their nonsense to a mobile suit with a GN drive, even if it's a fake one...
It;ll be appropriate to say that Destiny or Strike Freedom is not even at the same level as the first generation, and I'm talking about the 0 Gundam, not the mention if it uses it's trans-am... Even in normal mode, it far exceeds S freedom in mobility(cuz of GN drive, GN drive vs Propulsion, do the math) TO be continued....

Their tech level would match something for a 3rd gen GN suit. I'm not saying they are more powerful but the Strike Freedom at the very least rivals some of the 3rd gen suits because of the technology incorporated. Now if you ignore Trans-AM, a lot of the suits in SD do have particularly notable innovations like the beam umbrella. And you overestimate the 1st and 2nd generation. The particle efficiency of those machines make them far inferior even with beam weapons.

I never referred to the 00 Gundam. The best of Seed Destiny is on the same level as the 3rd generation suits prior to the second season. The 00 Gundam is overkill.

Why are even gundam fans arguing whose the stronger one? Can't they just accept that each is strong in their own universe? Like OWN universe? Hell, this is one of the reasons why Ngee Khiong gave up on all of the gundam community.

Having no knowledge of whom this person you speak of is, but I do know that it's sad that he let a little of over extremists beat him down to the point of submission. Granted I have hit those levels, but I mainly do it for the sake of arguing ,it can be rather fun.
As for comparing, it's human nature to compare, nothing new there. Besides, it's not just Gundam fans that compare, it's everywhere, look at comic book nerds and their whole "Versus" threads.
