  • im young but im a little overweight. tried the hcg diet, and it didnt work. the only reason i lost 7 pounds is because i was eating and swimming ALOT.

    Obesity is extremely complex. This guy in the video has nothing going on in his mind. The simplistic Caloric Model of obesity is a failed model. It is wrong. Caloric restriction ( dieting) does NOT work. It will never treat obesity long term. All you will do is raise your bodyfat setpoint, to protect you against future diets.

    Exercise itself is also very overrated for fat loss. Dr. Eric Ravussin

  • You have nothing going on upstairs. There are VERY complex regulatory feedback loops homeostatic factors that are beyond out control that determine bodyfat level.

    We are NOT in TOTAL control of our bodyfat. Exercise is very overrated, as well as dieting ( moderate to severe caloric restriction, semi starvation etc) for losing fat.

    You need to look into Dr. Stephan Guyenet, fool. He has a Ph.D. in the neurobiology of bodyfat regulation. You whacked out vegan. All of you have "WOMEN FACE:.

  • Hey Cody, what about people who don't get fat no matter what they eat? Me for example, I drink sugary drinks and potato chips almost everyday (not the chips, if I did, I'd die of sore throats). And I don't exercise on a regular basis, just when I feel like.

  • When you are older though, all the unhealthy stuff you did, will catch up to you. YOur appearence will look horrible too! Also you could get diabetes, or bad/high coletseral(sp?)....Also just because you are skinny and not fat, does not mean you are healthy. In fact if you eat junk and exercise when you feel like it you are very UNhealthy. It is horrible for your health.

  • I have been blessed with a high metabolism...for now and i know its going to wear off one day. I am just too lazy to get motivated to work out haha. When i was in high school i did cheer, that motivated me because i enjoyed it..now im just kinda blah

  • AWESOME VIDEO!!!! short and to the point LOVE IT !!! i am at the other end (again) ...i'm 367 lbs. (was 400lbs two months ago) ...and that is all it takes ...change the diet a little to healthier foods and MOVE AROUND!!....just awesome keep it up!!!

  • I'm definitely getting more fit this Spring. I have Volleyball class everyday so that's where I get in my 30-40 minutes :) I wanna do much better though. I'm going to pair up with a close friend of mine and we're going to accomplish something we should've a while ago.

  • According to the BMI calculator she is under weight, but not by too much, if she gained 10 pounds she'd on the lower end of the normal range.

  • Ok well according to the BMI index, you're perfectly healthy. You may want to try losing a couple of pounds, but really, you're at the age where your body is going through all sorts of weird shit. I really wouldn't worry about your weight until you hit your mid to late teens, or at least until you know for a fact that your body has stopped growing.

  • No problem :))) I've always struggled with weight problems, but I just realized that my body was experiencing changes.

    Just a side note for EVERYONE, I tried purging my food to loose weight...I don't recommend it. Just do as Cody says: get off the couch, exercise, & eat healthy. I know it's tough, but I'd rather live a long, healthy life than dying at the age of 35 by a heart attack.

  • At 12 you shouldn't really worry about that, I was overweight when I was younger but thinned out naturally during puberty. You're not fully developed yet so you're weight will fluctuate. As long as you're not over eating you should be ok.

  • Your so right Cody! Even if you eat alot of fruits and such, the sugar will not benefit you without excercise, espeically if your already diabetic. The food is simply one factor in the equation. Excercise, no matter how little is the other factor that will determine success. I've lost 85 pounds now and kept it off for over 2 years! I have you to thank for this to a great extent. I started DDR when I saw your video and still do it for my excercise! :) Not diabetic anymore either!

  • I totally understand the thing where we "want it right now!" because i wanted to be a little more fit and to be honest, i was expecting results in an amount of time which was waaay unrealistic. Now, i just workout about an hour or two every day and im way more fit then i was expecting and i realized, it really didn't take that long =) And im loving these videos, very helpful and motivating =)

  • I've tried weight loss pills like hydroxycut before it worked a little bit but it just packed on more weight in the later days. I decided to just drink water and excercise.

    what is the best way to lose 100 pounds.. 3 months? or 6 months??

  • You want to take it off slowly, the faster you take it off, the more extra skin you are going to have

  • i learned that weight loss pills dont help at all. ppl make the pills saying its gonna help you lose weight just so they can make money. (not that ive tried weight loss its just what i learned in health class) but yea im really unhealthy i cant run in gym for too long or else my heart will start to hurt for up to half an hour. not kidding. lol i told my teacher i have a heart murmor.

  • They do nothing at all, the pills.

    Maybe you need to start out really slow, a few min a day or so, and work your way up, it does not even have to be running if you hate that cardio :)

  • This is helpful for a lot of people, but unfortunately I'm in the minority of people who have a hard time gaining weight. I've been underweight my whole life, and to the people saying eat more that doesn't work. Perhaps maybe you can try to think of ways for the people who have a very very fast metabolism to gain weight. It's great that you're giving advice and health tips to everyone, but is there any way you can help me?

  • I've never thought about it from that way before, I'll have to look some info up on that before I can write anything, I'll try, but it might be a while :P

  • Not many people hear about this sort of problem, because I'm in the minority now. My voice is quieter than it once was, because of how big of an issue obesity is now. Thank you so much Cody, you're such a great person for helping everyone.=)

  • Abs are great for one thing, abs, you need to step up your cardio if you want to lose the weight. But other than that, it sounds like you are doing everything else right :)

    Maybe start training on running, just work on a little each day, increasing how much you run every week or so :)

  • this past march i started on the treadmill,when it got warm out i started to walk in our small town.i walked 2-3 miles a day. than i got on the rails to trails path. walked 4-5 miles a day. a few 10 miles .the longest was 12 miles. took 5 and a half hours.i did not stop to rest. was not tired. now i walk in the mall . lost 65 pounds so. last year i could not walk 100 yards without having to set down. winter will be a test for me. i plan to get to the mall as much as i can. i feel great.

    DDR Song, 30 Push ups, DDR Song, Lift a 25 pound weight 70 times with each arm, DDR Song, 30 Push Ups, DDR Song, Lift a 25 pound weight 70 times with each arm, DDR Song, 30 Push Ups, Followed up by P90X Ab Ripper X

  • Nice, might have to buy DDR now lol. I tried it before, did horrible lol.

  • It takes a little while to get used to, but you pick it up fast if you keep at it :)
