How to build a Pulse motor

Great explaination! I have a Coulple of Questions though:

1. Which wires are coming from which "Wind" in the "Bi-Filer Coil"? (i.e. Both Taped are from one wind or both taped from one end of each wind...)

2. What Size Diode and I assume that current is running from the coil to the "Emitter" (i.e. White closer to the Emitter?)

The negative on the primary battery go’s to the inner 20 gauge wire on the coil which also go’s to the emitter on the transistor and the inner 24 gauge wire from the coil go’s to the collator on the transistor then the neon bulb is connected to the emitter and collator does it matter which way I put the neon bulb? And is there any problems you see in this hookup? Thanks for you help!

My 1N4007 diode is connected to the positive on the secondary battery. Then the outside 20 gauge wire runs to negative on the secondary battery and on the positive on the primary battery.

Hi I have been trying to get the bedini motor to work, but the wheel just comes to a stop. My setup is 1N4001 diode is connected on the emitter to the base on the transistor. Then the base is connected to a 470 resister. Then resister is connected to the potentiometer. The potentiometer is connected to a 24 gauge outside coil wire.

INSTANT FAIL!!!! You use neshua brand duct tape. Nothing can succeed unless it uses DUCK brand duct tape!!! Try switching to real tape, then give it another shot. I'll bet it'll work.

a pulse motor will not have the torque that a normal ac motor has. however, this does not mean that a pulse motor is worthless in everyday usages. Torque is going to equal the amperage input to the coil per times pulsed. No way to get around that unless you use magnets to help it.

as long as the resistance is enough no switch is needed.

so I still don't get it. How are the poles switching if there's no switch? Is it switching from the coil via transistor?

my magnets are nsns. with enough resistance the bemf will cancel itself. The trick is pulling off the excess energy while it is colapsing.

so there's no reed switch in the circuit? I thought in order to get the rotor moving you need to switch the poles on and off using either a reed or a hal?
