Hmmm. So Arthur goes to fight the big bad men and he takes Gwen with him? I'm assuming it's for her protection, but how could he ever expect her to hold her own in a real fight?
@fullmetalmaxdog Yes, girls can fight, and very well. However Gwen can't fight. If you're going to the throne room, you know it will be the best defended and have the best fighters. Yes, Gwen picked up a sword earlier this season, but that doesn't mean she should be left to hold her own against a real soldier.
BTW Gwen wasn't the only girl there. Isolde did a great job until she got killed.
@mslissa22 I think Arthur took whoever was available. The knights, including the core knights he usually travel with, are out trying to regain the castle. Everyone he entered the castle had to play a role/ do what they could to wrestle Camelot from Morgana's grasp.

@SteffJPendragon I think so too, I think Arthur knows he can trust Merlin. Although with Arthur having his trust broken by so many now maybe Merlin is afraid of telling him.
@TheVikingmaiden I yeah I know, I was thinking that too, but Arthur really loves and trusts Merlin and after Merlin completely explained his reasoning, told him about all the times he'd saved his life and would probably be crying due to the emotion of the scene, Arthur may be angry/confused for a while but he loves Merlin and would except it and although he maybe be uncomfortable about it at first he would grow used to it and be grateful for all that Merlin has done for him.
Morgana gave a really flat reason for hating Arthur. She says it's because he's made it clear how he feels about her kind.....ok Morgana, that's so not it. She can say that but the real reason is that she wants to be Queen she feels it is her birthright and as long as Arthur is alive she can't have that. But that sounds too selfish and she wants to sound noble but she's not. She become a very bitter and angry person who is lost , depressed, and alone. Who is way too afraid to admit her sins.

He didn't start to really hate magic until Morgana killed Uther, and that was HER fault. As with Agravaine, I understand her turning against Uther because of his hatred for magic. But Arthur, Merlin, Gwen and Morgana were the best of friends before. It boggles my mind that she completely turned against them.
Merlin looks all intense and worried until 2:44 . Then he's like "...oh yeah! Thanks to me and my whispering straw thing, his blade can stop you after all!"
