Brad was a truly great and wonderful person. I like Boston, but his Beatles "Tribute Band" were true philanthropists. They helped Methuen High and probably many others by putting on performances to help raise funds desperately needed for School Music Programs. RIP Brad your reward is in heaven.
Man, Brad Delp performing at a high school?! Those kids sure are damn lucky! I bet a lot of them don't even realize who they are seeing! A wonderful, legendary rock and roll singer!
Torn between feeling cheated because Brad is gone and grateful that the Lord called him home for some peace. Too many singers sound alike, or have no feeling in what they sing, but every great once in awhile comes a singer with a voice all his own that is never duplicated. I'm glad we got him as long as we did and hope to see him in concert in the afterlife.
I will always love Brad. He will always be one of my all-time favorite singers. I was lucky enough to see him perform live around 9 times. Not only did he have an incredible voice, but he had one of the warmest personalities of any singer I've ever seen. He had a smile that would light up the whole arena. I sure miss him.
@jimmydcap Yes, because his band was much more popular. He can sing, no doubt. But if there were actually a contest based on the solo performer without any band history, I believe Brad would easily win
There are no words to express the gratitude I feel toward Brad Delp nor the sadness I have felt since his passing. He inspired and uplifted so many. May he never be forgotten and may his music live on forever.
Brad's two favorite groups were The Beatles and Orpheus. As a kid, he would hitchhike to see every performance of Orpheus. He credited a lot of his vocal style and harmonizing to intese study of both Paul McCartney and Bruce Arnold. Brad got to met his two idols in the late 1970's and went on to record several tracks with Bruce at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch in 1988. He told Bruce that one of his life's dreams had been fulfilled and if he got the chance to sing with Paul, he'd die a happy man.

Holy crap, thanks newhampshirevideo, for posting this. I didn't even realize this group existed. I am a lifelong Beatles fan and usually find Beatles cover or tribute bands to be cheesy-- at best. Beatlejuice was AMAZING!!! So sad to lose a cool guy with an amazing voice like Brad Delp. This video brings tears to my eyes. Really incredible, these guys really capture the spirit of The Beatles.
A few weeks ago, I heard my teacher play Don't Look Back on her computer, and I flipped out.
"I was like Boston! Boston! Oh my god, I love them!" My teacher couldn't help but laugh at my excitement.
If Brad Delp ever showed up at my school, I probably wouldn't be able to speak. I'd have so many emotions running through me, complete happiness, laughter, I would probably cry, and feel very serious at the same time.
They've done so much for me. Words cannot describe how much they've helped me.
HEY BOB! This is so great to see and hear some of the new postings. brad was a great friend of our families and even to this day he is very much missed i do have a signed drum stick from him he signed at one of these beatle juice shows they did at salem high
My very first rock concert was Brad and Boston in LA, March 1st, 1979. I was 16 and he was only 27. So full of life. Boston had just about the fullest rock-n-roll guitar sound ever yet Brad's energy and stage presence was even bigger. Pure joy to see him sing. Loved to hear him sing the Beatles so well in this video! Thanks for posting it.
Man! He made it his own. To take a song that would give anyone with a heart the shivers (the good kind), and make it seem like you're hearing it for the first time. Bless you Brad, we all miss you so much.
Really brings tears to my eyes, knowing he's gone to the "big gig in the sky". He's got lots of great company though. Rock on Brad! enjoy your "Golden Slumbers".
I couldn't agree with you more. Brad was in a master class catagory of musicians. Unfortunately, I never had the privilege of seeing him perform live. R.I.P Brad.
@barkpeeler2000 This is funny only because Brad is imitating, note-for-note, inflection-for-inflection, Paul McCartney in 1969. Even down to the Brit pronouncation of "Carry That Weight" with an emphasis on the "T" in "weight" like the English do. So you are saying Brad's imitation of Paul is better than Paul. :)
@barkpeeler2000 i'm a huge beatles fan, especially Paul. and i have to agree. Delp at 50 is every bit as good a singer as Paul was at 23. which is saying a lot, especially since Paul's current voice is a shadow of what it once was.
Original Beatle fan here..I saw Beatlejuice twice in Salem, MA and could NOT believe how PERFECT they were at capturing the Beatles sound!! It was ABSOLUTELY amazing!! Brad Delp was phenomenal!!!
I also once saw a random high-priced "Beatles" act perform at North Shore Music Theater and those guys were not worth hearing, let alone PAYING to hear!
I don't know man, unless you think years and years of providing people with beautiful music is a waste of life. He has left us too soon, but he certainly gave us a lot...
This explains Brad Delp a little more for me. I knew the bio on him said the Beatles were his first major influence, but I had NO IDEA how much he can sound like McCartney! When I get to heaven, I want to sit down and sing a song with the man. He's so nice, I'm sure he'll indulge me. RIP BRAD!!!
A masterpiece! Brad, you are sorely missed. Thank you newhamshirevideo for posting. Every time have an extra 5 minutes and think of Brad I play this clip.
