Thanks bobfunk! This video was making the rounds on the iConcert channel in Europe a few years ago. I had it on my DVR in HD and it was awesome. Unfortunately, I lost it in a hard drive crash :(
Is this a concert available to buy? I saw your reply (u working there).... How can I get this on a DVD? MUST HAVE.... this is probably the baddest groove and best live performance I've heard for many years.... Can U help me how to get this concert. I'd die to hear it all....
OMFG - this is AWESEOME! Thx, Bobfunk. Never heard a live version of this track so funky. Going to Me'Shell concert here in Copenhagen 3 February. Actually my first Me'Shell concert - despite the fact that I've listened to her for more than 10 years - almost every day.
THIS version is pure joy. They're having sooo much fun. Dyson - u just got yourself a new fan. Cool drummer. Nice guitarist. Awesome ('Hancock-inspired') keyboard dude - and Me'Shell the one and only = a true rythm godess!

@TheMrSchack Yes, I agree 100%. The keyboardist, you can definitely hear "Hancock" shadows within that solo. Especially around 7:48. He and the bassist give a little shout to Hancock's "4AM" from Herbie's album "Mr. Hands."
Dammmmmm it. The band is just crushin' it from all angles. The keyboard player has a real Herbie Hancock thing goin on the Rhodes or whatever he begins his solo on. I mean that as a serious compliment - in the way he moves around with the clean polymodal effect. Saw this band in 99 in Seattle and was so tight and soulful just like this. Great post and thanks. This gives me a great memory of that show.
Alfredo Mojica at his best with Meshell as a Percussionist. Amazing. I saw them in Concert at the House of Blues and at the Whisky in L.A. They really kicked ass.
there should be more concerts like this where Meshell jams together with another bassist. Dyson's style blends well with her but so does Marcus Miller he is equally good just different. I wish she would jam with Mark King that would be amazing
David Dyson is good...Just NOT arter the african queen of woodoo, the bitch of all the bitches!

I felt the vibe of Herbie Hancock's "Actual Proof" in the beginning of the keyboardist solo. Very sweet.

David fucking Dyson. If you're gonna play bass for MeShell, you better be solid as shit. Damn.
