  • this really helped out bro, I"m trying to learn serato in less than 2 weeks for a gig coming up that requires it instead of virtual.

  • When I put my pitch down to get the tracks on beat they stay on beat for 25 sec then slowly slide off :( any suggestions?

  • hey anyone know the tracklisting for this video?especially the jackson 5 remix?

  • good video!!!

  • Good video! Love the DN-X1500 i have one and i think it is the best mixer in the world... quite a statement i know BUT it has everything and more then Pioneer, sounds better and is made by the same company that owns Aleen& Heath.. but yeah awesome video man!!

  • @MrSexyAsFcuk Yeah I loved my mixer. great sound quality and really good effects. Sold it though and upgraded to the DN-X1600. better sound quality, better effects, and I was able to Midi map it for serato.

  • Hey mate, v good explanation, I ve been dj ing from serato for some time,n this is a fantastic video for the new ones.... keep em comming .

    Peace

    Mark from Australia.

  • Thank big homie just got some vinyl tables and serato that helps me alot. St.Louis stand up.

  • @ctlebanks Glad this video could help you out.

  • you know how after you sync it that it goes off beat after a few seconds? your suppose to hit space bar and with the caps lock on you hold E or R to speed the actual bpm of the song and D or F for the second channel.

  • @spartanshyne Ahhhh I see... I guess thats if your using the keyboard... I really don't use the keyboard though. But good tip for those that do.

  • Great video bro, very helpful

  • @RMIND14 Yes i do

  • Can you add effects and use drops with serato??...

  • @RMIND14 Yes, you can.

  • Great video. I am learning to. I thought about getting Trackor but Serato seem like it is easier to use than tracktor. Thanks alot. dj vizion

  • @ctlebanks I think serato is probably easier than Traktor. Not saying its better or not, But i think its easier to learn.

  • yes can u make a tutorial on cumbia tribales n how to mix them cuz??

  • Great tutorial, I use Traktor though..

  • yo gil did u like useing serato with ur denon cd players?

    pros and cons?

  • @DjBee11 The only con I can think of is that you lose the efx on your decks when you use Serato.

  • Music is too loud! Shut the stupid music off!!!

  • ay man nice video..got serato about a year now. had virtual dj n upgraded to serato,..i think it's much better, watching this video really held me with hip-hop. i actually play more spanish music than hip-hop,around my area its alot of spanish party i do,alot of spanish party, but i would like to see a video on salsa, bachata n merengue mixing, it a lil harder to mix those music..if u can get back at me i would appreciated thanx

  • @jeimennany Thanks for the comment... I will post up a video with some latin music soon.

  • @gilboogie no problem n yeah thanx

  • Excellent video Gil! very well done to help out the beginners, even ppl who haven't used Serato, this shows them how serato handles this. 5 stars!

    -Caz

  • gr8 tutorial gil, straight 2 the point n rite on m8... thats how i think when mixin. also trying to leave the mix on as long as poss and keep adjusting is good practice..! as u can see in 1 or 2 of my vids..

  • good job gil

so many how to mix vids on youtube talk about shtuff that dont matter when it comes to beat matching. you get right to the point with this.

    thats whats up

    bb

  • a lot of help yo , thank you

    -STEELO-

  • This is the kind of vid that proves why youtube dj's are da bomb!!!

  • Good looking out for a fellow Dj Bro...

  • Great vid Gil. Most ppl are too lazy to put up a vid like this..im guilty! haha.

    Cheers bro.

  • Love Da Cutty Ranks In Da Back!!!!....Good Tips But I Still Think Watching Waves Is"Cheating"...But I Must Admit I Do Catch My Self Screen Watchin time to time But Like U Said when theirs no monitor thats when u gotta b sure ur on timin LOL cuzz trust me BOTTLES/CUPS WILL FLY LOL...i hate the sync on vdj its not correct alot its give u messed up bpm i dont rely on bpm's but its a great starter program

  • they used to say that writing the bpm of the song on the record label was cheating...that is just smart and helpful to the DJ...just like waveforms =)

  • @jasperibe lol true true nuff said!! lol

  • @jasperibe

jasper, good point. i used to get sweated by people cuz i wrote my bpms on the label and had my crates all bpm'd. they said "you had to be able to feel the beat to see if it mixed", not know that it fit before you put it on the platter. some people just don't get it. USE WHAT EVER YOU NEED TO MAKE YOUR PERFORMANCE BETTER! Get with technology. If you could rock ssl cool, do that... if you need vdj to mix for you, in order to do your thing - thats cool too. different strokes homey!

  • @BobbyBlendz

I agree but I also feel that if your using decks with pitch control and pitch bend buttons then you really should take advantage of that and learn how to mix without the aid of a "beat sync"...

  • definately! im not a fan of beat sync, but if thats what floats ya boat, go do what u gotta do. if i were bringing someone into the biz, i would insist they learn vinyl-only first! at least with the same record to get the concept of what you need to do to go from one side to the the other. i would personally never use vdj but not cuz its cheating, but cuz i feel it aint as fun! people get technology twisted with "cheating" and "preference". thats just bs! post-its on the wavs, LOL! funny stuff

  • haha, man when i was spinning only on records, i would listen to each new record at home with my metronome and put the bpm on the sleeve, it just helped me in a rush when i had to do a quick mix

  • your the man gil! a whole video just for me thanks reLY APPRECIATE IT

  • Anytime... Hope it helps.

  • That was a great visual example.

  • great tips man i love this vidoe it helped me 2 thanks
