I fear for humanity if you fall for this cynically produced BBC puppet crap. Toyah was - and is - simply a music industry puppet. She cant play, she doesnt write lyrics. Cmon, you can see this , cant you ?
IEYA..this creature either let you speachless or lights your inside creation to spheres.Energy,make-up,image,space in words, charismatic and sweet person!!
She is that first female singer whom records i bought in 80s and infatuated.
Gave influences more than she could even imagine..Finally i found these all at youtube!Happiness and youth in rock is the formula, image does the rest,Toyah, you were in this the best.
/ i understand you´re making comeback?Please,visit also in Finland..
Fab trip down memory lane. Remember having to do a project at school on anything I wanted and I chose the life and times of Toyah.....probably the best piece of work I ever submitted !!!!
I really don't remember Toyah's music that well. I was about... oh.. 8 - 9 about the time she was really famous. I do remember seeing this crazy redhead, called Toyah, on top of the pops now and again, back in the day. Just decided to go on youtube and see what her msuic was like. Not bad really. Her music sounds like a good laugh although I'm sure she'sdoing this seriously. Yeah, not bad, certainly different :)
~Hmm. Though an ardent Toyah fan, I wanne be free, like Thunder in the Mountains not one of my faves. These tracks were the commercial success toonz for Toyah. Much prefer the 'Sheep Farming' and 'Blue Meaning' 'Changeling' tunes. Doesn't Toyah look just gorgeous in this clip though. The hair, the 80's, her clothes. She was way ahead of her time. A trendsetter and strong female role model. Toyah and Siouxie both (and check the Sioux out too...still rocking good). Word. Andyx
If you employed a committee of cardigan wearing old farts to write a song that would part self pitying teenagers from thier pocket money, it would sound like this. It's just as well she's ludicrously sexy, so we can watch the videos with the sound turned down.
Hey Toyah, i remember when you sang with the Stranlers in 1980 when Hugh Cornwall was in the clink. Good old days. Is it true you were having a thing with a certain French named Bass player.
courgari, toyah was the rock n roll version of blakes7. She made the 80's what it was. the 80's was a celebration of flash and bizzare. Toyah did everything before it was popular.

vicki if you ran around pumping your fists in the air, yelling " I'm gonna turn this world, Uspide down," your mum might be taken a back.
