  • woot type of guitar is this? ;x

  • @Bakkermman Conklin GTBD-7 7-string bass

  • its ok, but its not too cool in so higher octave.

  • I love this piece on the cello, and I think the way you play it here on the bass is wondiferous ^_____^

  • not bad for a beginner. the groove and the left hand technique need some developement though.

  • @snackersnew Thanks...but...what groove?

  • this is amazing

    ive learnt this on cello

maybe ill have to follow and learn it on bass too xxx

  • @megamusicloverx Yeah I need to buckle down and learn the full thing...

  • There are some notes you left out, further i like it :)

  • @ouw9000 Yeah, just did a short preview of it. I need to learn the entire thing soon.

  • Man I've seen metal bass players play killer passages that made me shit brix. But you handle that goliath so beautifully that it softens my stools. I love the videos of your Conklin 7 string by the way. I played one before but it was like holding a tree.

  • @bmiranda2645 Yeah man, haha. Takes some getting used to. I enjoy having the extended range for stuff like this.

  • @MistaMarko and cool to see you make good use of those extra strings. I get annoyed by those guys who demo a 7+ string bass on YouTube but only use the same 4 strings on any normal bass haha.

  • @bmiranda2645 Haha, I try to utilize it all man.

  • Dude, U'r awesome

  • @viniciusvrd Thanks!

  • that bass is kick ass

  • @ruben999 Thanks, it sure is!

  • @MistaMarko and you sure know how to play it! ;)

  • some mistakes, but cool =)

  • @hasegawamiki Definitely, I plan to learn it better sometime soon hopefully. :)

  • great men, keep playing

  • @jeannotx Thanks!

  • I LOVE the hesitation on the foundation note of each chord. It's nice you went with a musical interpretation, rather than like the majority of people on YouTube which thinks faster is better. Great job.

  • @MonkeyManBlues Glad you noticed it! I didn't have the entire song learned when I recorded this (still don't) and figured it would be bland with such a short excerpt played in the mechanical style, so I switched it up a little. Thanks for watching! -Mark

  • Seven strings bass !! Awesome !

  • @TotoROCKET054 Indeed! Thanks!

  • sweetness

  • @soccerluver6789 thanks!

  • SWEEEEET.

  • @soccerluver6789 thanks!

  • good tone

  • @bluesflames thanks

  • wow! God gave u a gift!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!

  • I'm blessed to have learned to play, indeed, thanks for watching/commenting! Appreciate it,

    -Mark

  • OMG im a cellist and i play this song and hear it all the time on the cello and the viola but never on the bass guitar... (: I <3 it!!!

  • Thanks! It would indeed sound much better on Cello if I knew how to play it, but it was definitely fun learning it on bass..

    -Mark

  • hey great playin im 12 and i really want 2 learn this song ! tw how lon have u been playing??? ur really good!

  • Been playing about 5-6 years now! Song isn't too bad, I'd definitely recommend it for practice. Works the dexterity well! Good luck!

  • Thanks man!

  • This is amazing. you would'nt know a video on how to play this would you?

  • Nope, I figured it out by ear.

    -Mark

  • dude nice conklin and great playing

  • Thanks man! Definitely appreciate that big time.

  • yeah maybe its tru its comfortable cuz theres alot of space O.o and btw gratz..i mean it was cool the short version =D

  • Thanks...appreciate it!

  • wow too many strings..turn that sucker up!!

  • yeah, it was a bit much at first. thanks!

  • WOW!

  • Appreciate it!

  • You are welcome as much as I have enjoyed your efforts! : )

  • you didn't finish?

  • Nope...just a short version.

  • What is the string spacing on that?

I played four strings four ages then decided i liked a smaller string spacing so i played a 6 and now i'm thinking of moving to 7

i had a 6 custom made, 14mm string spacing lol said i liked tight spacing

  • Not too sure about string spacing as far as like numbers go, but it feels really comfortable and they aren't too close together at all in my opinion.

The 7 feels great, you should definitely go for it man!

  • no offense, but it sounds kinda like 8 bit video game music. brighten up your tone a little bit, and let the notes ring out (chords in the left hand). that way you sounds more like a classical guitar player, which does the piece a lot more justice than a synth player.

other than that it sounds great

  • This was played on Cello, where no notes rang out...I chose to play the authentic style!!

    Thanks though, man.

  • cello allows notes to ring out unless you play pizzicato

  • Yeah, they do a bit actually after watching. Well, I guess that's where I can improve! :)

  • how do you play a 7 string??? i play a 5 string and have trouble reaching the g.

  • Practice!

  • you can play it on 4 string ...i did for a gig...you got to play it a fourth lower though..other than that its easy

  • Yeah, just some positioning changes.

  • i can play that on cello no i have to learn it on bass

  • ya i learned it on bass

  • can you do THAT on a 4 string?? That is awesome!!!!!

Really, can you tho? Would be a neat comparison, I think.

  • i think i could, it isn't too hard. the 7-string allows me to stay in one position, where as a 4-string i would be doing a lot of awkward position hopping. could be done i suppose!

  • I love that song =)

  • ahh im trying it by ear

  • Keep in mind what I'm playing...not death metal, but classical.

  • Hey nice playing, that's a pretty nice bass you got there.

    =]

  • Appreciate it bro! : )

  • hey man nice playing, where did you order the sheet music from?

  • watch motnik's version on the right, theres a link to the sheet music he made. it's for 6 string bass, full of chords, but if you can't do that, pm me and ill send you a pdf of the music an octave lower

  • fantastic

  • Thanks man!

  • no problem, what kinda bass is that anyways?and correct me if I'm wrong, but did I count 7 strings on that beast?

  • Conklin GTBD-7 -- and you sure did! ^_^

  • wow, that's kick ass,I wanna start playing bass bad lol

  • You should!

  • nice chord at the end bro!

    way cool

  • nice playing keep it up

  • i'd say for first go around, that's pretty damn good sir. and the "one-string bass" comeback is classic...seems like anything that doesn't fit the "norm" is always questioned nowadays. good job anyway man.

  • Haha, thanks man. I agree!

  • Nice bro. Fellow TBer here. How's that BA115 treating you? I'm thinking of getting one myself.

  • It's awesome man. My only real amp, and I've never had a problem with it as far as being loud enough at a venue, or gig, or shaping the tone to a certain song. Its always great, and its extremely easy to carry around. I HIGHLY recommend it!

  • Seven strings, doesn't that seem a little excessive...

  • Yeah, my one-string bass is my main.

  • Lol

I wish you lived up here by Lake charles, we could jam

I have a Geddy Lee jazz bass

  • Sweet! I was considering getting one of those...I have a fretless 4-string that looks just like his. Black Jazz bass. I love it.

  • Yea, its a good bass guitar, but your bass is better.

  • Haha, well thanks!
