@spectrumdweller yeah, i remember that. it looked to me like he did it because he was conflicted. he wanted to do the right thing so he took the job, but he didn't want his supposed friend to think he was a jerk either. he made a bad decision. it took him a while , but he realized he did eventually. with the whole direction that the show went, you could say he died early on because he realized what he did wrong and came to terms with it before any of the other characters.

No, charlie typed Good Vibrations into the Hydra's computer system and opened the radio frequency network (making a boat able to make contact with the radio Jack held when they were about to be rescued), and before Desmond reached the room where he was, that weird guy with the eyepatch blew up a grenade in his hand outside the Hydra (he was thought to be dead of a gunshot wound.) Charlie drowned saving the others.

Dom was on an interview, saying how he wasnt happy with his role anymore and how he felt overshadowed by the other actors. He felt taht it was his time to go. He will be in flashbacks, but hes really dead. Sorry.
