God doesn't live in a building he lives in us, 'If you love me you will keep my commandments", the Roman catholic church has been responsible for allot of discrimination and wars in the past, but this is due to the following of a man not Christ himself.

@MsJesseGarcia Jesus is about a relationship, not a religion. You don't have a religion with your folks or your friends but a relationship, one needs to be in communion with Him and lead not by our choice but the ACT's of the Holy Spirit. What that man in the original video stated was how people have made Him an object instead of someone who we need to in a relationship with. Either way, it is the choice we make as to what we chose to see, be blessed and spread good news. :)

To those saying it is trendy to hate "the church," it comes from two different view points of church. One says the church is Christ's body of believers and the other considers the church a building and religious structure. That is what is being disputed here. I found Christ through seeing personal relationships my friends had with Him and by purchasing and reading the Bible. I grew up raised in "religion" my entire life but never felt a connection until now. Christ supersedes law.

Singinsomesongs I got to school now at holy spirit college where i am learning theology. I did a year a mission year last year and thats is when God destroyed me ( in a good way. I am revering to him opening my eyes) So my spirituality comes from that. Diving into Gods own heart and sharing that joy is all we can do.

Love you message!! Thank you for telling us the truth! We need the Church and God wanted His Church to be guided by the holy spirit so we can be guided as well and receive the sacraments to become Saints. @jpenrod86 Jesus gives them the authority in Luke 22:19 to break bread (consecrate and distribute the Eucharist, his body and blood). Jesus established a church with the apostles as bishops leading it, and with Peter, the Pope, as the head authority with the power to "bind and loose."

Jesus later gives all of the apostles (the first bishops) the power to forgive sins (John 20:23). @jpenrod86 I did word that incorrectly. Jesus created the church, but he handed over authority of it to Peter. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus says "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Binding and loosing is something that Jewish rabbis would say, which meant they had authority to make decisions that were bound to the Jewish community.

Because we are all capable of doing good or bad, no matter what level of action. Jesus died for our sins, but it doesn't mean we're allowed to sin because He promised salvation. He died for us, but more importantly, He lived for us and lived so that we may strive to live like He did.

@ThePizzaFactory i totally agree with what your saying, but let me take it one step farther: Jesus died in order to forgive us of our sins. so if you did theoretically kill someone you can't blame someone else for your decision but you can ask forgiveness. satan is the only being to be considered truly evil. i dont think anyone would think themselves evil, and God certainly doesn't, so i think timander is just trying to say that no one is beyond forgiveness except the devil.

People were sinning and pharisee type people were tarnishing the faith in the old testament. There was sin of the "old man," yes, so Jesus took the sin in death to wash it away, but before he died, he was an example of the correct way we should be living. We can't Be God, but what I meant was for us to reflect Jesus' life: love God & one another. Read John 3:16-21

@TheTimader I don't think it is ok to kill someone, and say"The devil made me do it"Satan may have lied to me all of my life so that I am in a mental/spiritual state to murder. That also means that I refused God, and that my friend, is the real sin. God is less concerned about the action that I do, and more concerned with whether or not I will come back into his sonship. Satan tells us that it is the other way around. He gets us focused on our actions, so we cant see Gods character/grace clearly

And what I said was to reflect Jesus' LIFE. NOT, to simply follow LAWS simply because "we have to." That is why Jesus gave 2 new commandments because the previous 10 were taken at surface value. He made it so we follow Him OUT OF LOVE & not because of FEAR. Because when we LOVE, we tend to have more CONSIDERATION.

@1026Fearless - He did not have Peter "create" the church. I believe he is saying he would build the church through peter. He then talks about giving him the keys to the church - fast forward to Acts 2 when the holy spirit came to the apostles. Peter was the first to step up and preach which, in my opinion, fulfilled what Jesus had said. However, I think many people take this as to mean that Jesus established peter as some kind of authority over the church. I dont think that is true.

@j1mb0ner the original video moved me (nd many others) not becoz of d"persuading hyme" but d theme. Religion is really "man searching for God" when in reality "God is searching for man." There r so many religions in d world, but faith in Jesus (Christianity) isn't one of them, coz it's d only way to have a personal relationship with the one and only true God. Whether we choose to call it "Religion" or not, We are saved, not by our own merit but by believing in d work that Jesus did on the Cross.
