"it is not the church but us who lead people to hell" a church isnt a building. A church is two or more people gathered in Christ's name. We are the church the body and bride of Christ Jesus.
@andersonle09 This is false religion by the way--trying to get to God by doing things for Him. True religion is caring for the the needy and keeping one's self unstained by the world (James 1:27). This true religion is God honoring and pure! :)

You say that it wasn't the church that started wars it was the fault of man, but isn't it not man that makes up the church? God doesn't live in a building he lives in us, 'If you love me you will keep my commandments", the Roman catholic church has been responsible for allot of discrimination and wars in the past, but this is due to the following of a man not Christ himself.
Roman Catholics will have trouble understanding because they are not born again, and Roman Catholicism teaches works based salvation like all false religious systems do.
You are religious. A true believer will search the Scriptures and see if something is of God. Your response is not Christ like. You missed the whole point of the video.
@MsJesseGarcia Jesus is about a relationship, not a religion. You don't have a religion with your folks or your friends but a relationship, one needs to be in communion with Him and lead not by our choice but the ACT's of the Holy Spirit. What that man in the original video stated was how people have made Him an object instead of someone who we need to in a relationship with. Either way, it is the choice we make as to what we chose to see, be blessed and spread good news. :)
To those saying it is trendy to hate "the church," it comes from two different view points of church. One says the church is Christ's body of believers and the other considers the church a building and religious structure. That is what is being disputed here. I found Christ through seeing personal relationships my friends had with Him and by purchasing and reading the Bible. I grew up raised in "religion" my entire life but never felt a connection until now. Christ supersedes law.
1 Corinthians 14:34 - Women should be silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak, but should be submissive, as the law also says.
Colassians 3:22 - Slaves, obey your human masters in everything; don't work only while being watched, in order to please men, but work wholeheartedly, fearing the Lord
Singinsomesongs I got to school now at holy spirit college where i am learning theology. I did a year a mission year last year and thats is when God destroyed me ( in a good way. I am revering to him opening my eyes) So my spirituality comes from that. Diving into Gods own heart and sharing that joy is all we can do.
I dont know you, but i love your heart! I brought the original video up at my private classical christian schools theology class and this is exactly the response we had to it. Thank you so much for pointing out the fact that religion didnt start wars, and the fact that he spoke from a secular view of the church, not the true non-modernised view. MsJesseGarcia: where did you learn your logic/ theology? I would be interested to know your theological (or spiritual overall) upbringings.
great response! God bless you kid. I am glad people are standing up for his video. I love my church and we are all part of it. We cannot let this new radical era walk all over it. God wants us united, we are the church.
Romans 12:4-5 - though many, we are one body in Christ
1 Corinthians 6:15 - don't you know that your bodies are members of Christ
1 Corinthians 12:20-27 - you are Christ's body, individually parts of it
Colossians 1:18 - He is the head of the Body, the Church
Love you message!! Thank you for telling us the truth! We need the Church and God wanted His Church to be guided by the holy spirit so we can be guided as well and receive the sacraments to become Saints. Like a comment I read below, without guidance we are nothing.. and unfortunately that is why there are so many people making churches. People chose what they like and what they don't like without understanding the true meaning of it.
@jpenrod86 Jesus gives them the authority in Luke 22:19 to break bread (consecrate and distribute the Eucharist, his body and blood). Jesus established a church with the apostles as bishops leading it, and with Peter, the Pope, as the head authority with the power to "bind and loose."
@jpenrod86 Here, Jesus is saying that Peter now has this power over all of the church he just established. Jesus later gives all of the apostles (the first bishops) the power to forgive sins (John 20:23). He also gives the apostles directions as to what their work should be (Matthew 28:19 and Mark 16:15).
@jpenrod86 I did word that incorrectly. Jesus created the church, but he handed over authority of it to Peter. In Matthew 16:19 Jesus says "I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." Binding and loosing is something that Jewish rabbis would say, which meant they had authority to make decisions that were bound to the Jewish community.
But it is not me that is at fault.. Who fell from God first? Adam and Eve.. or Satan? It was Satan who tricked them. It is Satan's lies, and trickery that ruin this world. Not me.. not you, or anybody else. Satan only comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Jesus came to bring life, and life everlasting. Who is at fault? not me! not God.. its Satan.
@TheTimader I think it's your decision who to side with. Because if you happened to theoretically kill someone, you can't say, "Satan did it! Not me!" Because we are all capable of doing good or bad, no matter what level of action. Jesus died for our sins, but it doesn't mean we're allowed to sin because He promised salvation. He died for us, but more importantly, He lived for us and lived so that we may strive to live like He did.
@ThePizzaFactory i totally agree with what your saying, but let me take it one step farther: Jesus died in order to forgive us of our sins. so if you did theoretically kill someone you can't blame someone else for your decision but you can ask forgiveness. satan is the only being to be considered truly evil. i dont think anyone would think themselves evil, and God certainly doesn't, so i think timander is just trying to say that no one is beyond forgiveness except the devil.
@ThePizzaFactory I dont really tend to side with anyone... if thats what you are implying. I also never said that we could just start blaming Satan for erroneous things that we do. Thanks for bringing that up.. because it is an interesting thought. Oh, and god never meant for us to strive for anything. He made us in his image.. he gave us his spirit... not so we could strive to try to be like him; He died so we could blame our shit on The "old man" and move on. were already are like him =)
@TheTimader Jesus didn't come down to the world just to die to clean up a mess. There was religion already, but it was being abused. People were sinning and pharisee type people were tarnishing the faith in the old testament. There was sin of the "old man," yes, so Jesus took the sin in death to wash it away, but before he died, he was an example of the correct way we should be living. We can't Be God, but what I meant was for us to reflect Jesus' life: love God & one another. Read John 3:16-21
@ThePizzaFactory What do you meen by "Jesus didn't come to the world just to clean up a mess" ? I think I understand what you are getting at. I also have an interesting thought.. what if we are not supposed to reflect Jesus's life? I think that if we did, we would be living under the old law.. which is what Jesus came to do away with; and is also the law that he happened to live under when he was here. I think we are supposed to believe that we are who he says we are; sons/daughters of God.
@TheTimader I do believe that we are called to mimic the relationship that Jesus had to the father.. which is basically what I said above. I think that @hyoyasha said what I as trying to say earlier a-lot better than I could. He said "satan is the only being to be considered truly evil. i dont think anyone would think themselves evil, and God certainly doesn't, so i think timader is just trying to say that no one is beyond forgiveness except the devil."
@TheTimader I don't think it is ok to kill someone, and say"The devil made me do it"Satan may have lied to me all of my life so that I am in a mental/spiritual state to murder. That also means that I refused God, and that my friend, is the real sin. God is less concerned about the action that I do, and more concerned with whether or not I will come back into his sonship. Satan tells us that it is the other way around. He gets us focused on our actions, so we cant see Gods character/grace clearly
@TheTimader Satan also tells us we don't need to go to church or read the bible as long as we say we love God. He tricks us into moving away from holiness & into comfortability. And what I said was to reflect Jesus' LIFE. NOT, to simply follow LAWS simply because "we have to." That is why Jesus gave 2 new commandments because the previous 10 were taken at surface value. He made it so we follow Him OUT OF LOVE & not because of FEAR. Because when we LOVE, we tend to have more CONSIDERATION.
@ThePizzaFactory I completely agree with you. I think we are saying the same thing in different ways. but I dont get ur comment about Satan telling us we dont need to go to church. Cause I don't go to church, or any particular building if thats what you meen by church; but I do have a group of amazing people that I share fellowship with, through Christ. I think I understand what you are saying though.. Satan will try to trick us out of that fellowship, and into a place of complacency.
@TheTimader Yes, what you said fully confirms my thoughts. It's difficult to completely voice intentions in mere text, let alone with a character limitation. Thank you for your thoughts. Clarity helps with understanding we're all on the same team in the end. Let us continue to pray for one another and lovingly share our faith. God bless!
@TheTimader then live your own life and dont give satan the time of day. when you mess up go to God and apologize He deserves that much and He/His Son Jesus DIED so that you could be forgiven. there's no need to blame the devil, he's in hell were he belongs.
@hyoyasha Satan is not in hell right now hahaha were in the bible does it say that he is in hell right now? If you can show me, then thats cool... we would all be better off if he was. Yes ur advice about not giving Satan the time of day is great; thats what I tend to do.. Fuck Satan, he is an asshole =) but if I dont know who my enemy is then I will start blaming all the wrong people for bad stuff that happens. Like orphans, rape, and tsunamis! God doesn't allow that! Satan is the perpetrator
@TheTimader woah woah that's not what i meant at all! satan is the perpetrator, the traitor, the liar. we can hate him all we want but we will never hate him as much as God does. he was brought down by saint Michael into hell, and Jesus says in the gospel of John: "i saw the devil fall from grace like a bolt of lighting" i didnt mean to tell you to blame anyone else, all i was trying to say is that (in the end) the devil is powerless.
@deviousug You are absolutely right when you say that our faith has saved us. We are all saved by our faith in Jesus, but we need works to fill in the gaps that faith alone can not. "You foolish person, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is useless? Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar? You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did." -James 2:20-22
@1026Fearless - He did not have Peter "create" the church. I believe he is saying he would build the church through peter. He then talks about giving him the keys to the church - fast forward to Acts 2 when the holy spirit came to the apostles. Peter was the first to step up and preach which, in my opinion, fulfilled what Jesus had said. However, I think many people take this as to mean that Jesus established peter as some kind of authority over the church. I dont think that is true.
the original video has good points but the overall theme is so flawed... hope more people see this video to realize they were just hypnotized by that guys persuading rhyme...
@j1mb0ner the original video moved me (nd many others) not becoz of d"persuading hyme" but d theme. Religion is really "man searching for God" when in reality "God is searching for man." There r so many religions in d world, but faith in Jesus (Christianity) isn't one of them, coz it's d only way to have a personal relationship with the one and only true God. Whether we choose to call it "Religion" or not, We are saved, not by our own merit but by believing in d work that Jesus did on the Cross.
making Christians look like fools. I want to tell everyone of them "The one without sin can be the first one to throw a stone" Do not judge. Fill Jesus with joy through your actions towards him and others instead of making the world see us as a deceptive lie
@LIZisBLACKdotCOM I understand what you mean about hypocrites. You make a good point with the scripture, just be sure you don't unknowingly cast a stone of your own. You're right. PEOPLE need to step up and take responsibility. It's the people that fail, not the Church/religion. So if we "abolish religion" like in the original video, we are left with PEOPLE and if it's already hard for people to follow religion, imagine who they'd follow without it. Let's start w/ ourselves to be good examples
People aren't doing religion any justice and that is why people see Christians as hypocrites and so many other things. So many people who are "strongly religious" Do not do what Jesus would do, act how he would act, or treat people how he would treat them. I don't even know how many times i've seen people of the church act disgusting towards the people who need help. it's not like it's just a social gathering. Many religious and church people need to step up, take responsibility, & and stop
It's what we like you said, have made religion. Religion has become a once a week thing on sundays and then acting in the ways of the world and pretending it's alright. He's pointing out all of the faults of religion so they can be fixed. church is one of the places where i feel the most judged and out of place and I'm close with god! It's all gone backwards. My faith is not my religion or church. it can be built off of it but jesus is my faith and my faith lies in jesus. not religion.
thank you for making this! i hate how *trendy* it is to hate the church and religion. without them, no one would know about christ in the first place.
@dbraun916 Jesus had religion, Judaism. But that is besides the point. Jesus instituted religion in the Church when he told Peter to go build his Church.
@tomtheteathingcat1 he told peter he would build his church, he did not say that go forth and build a church, he was born to a jewish woman, he did not claim it to be his religion, but his mothers faith
@ibecandyy show me where it says he created the church, and never did he direct any man to create a christian church, also he never appointed a man to be the speaker for god ( ie the pope) he only came for our salvation
@ibecandyy romans built the catholic church. jesus never set foot in rome, peter the apostle ( the one who denied him 3 times) was the first pope, started the catholic church, christ said he would build his church, never did he claim it for any such religion
god gave you a vision? it's not about fame? This video is lame. god did not give you a vision, and if this isn't about your fame, then why the hell did you post it on YouTube? religion = war starting + child molesters

I dont think that is true.

the original video has good points but the overall theme is so flawed... hope more people see this video to realize they were just hypnotized by that guys persuading rhyme...
j1mb0ner 1 month ago 2

@dbraun916 Jesus had religion, Judaism. But that is besides the point. Jesus instituted religion in the Church when he told Peter to go build his Church.
tomtheteathingcat1 1 month ago
@tomtheteathingcat1 he told peter he would build his church, he did not say that go forth and build a church, he was born to a jewish woman, he did not claim it to be his religion, but his mothers faith
dbraun916 1 month ago
@dbraun916 Jesus practiced Judaism. Therefore making that His faith.

@dbraun916 Jesus was a Jew. Judaism is a religion. He then created the Catholic Church.

@ibecandyy show me where it says he created the church, and never did he direct any man to create a christian church, also he never appointed a man to be the speaker for god ( ie the pope) he only came for our salvation
