@heeerro sorry, i was wrong, i hadnt looked with enough attention to the keys layout!
it is different, but somehow similar
on bayan type B you have: whole tones to right and up, minor thirds to right, and semitones right and down
it is 3 row per set of notes, instead of 2 rows as it is on chromatone
it makes an octave even smaler, you can reach intervals of 2 and half octaves on the bayan depending on your hand, while on piano some people make only 1 octave
The layout yes, but the keys need to be larger, and the action needs to be changed so that all rows have the same resistance. It is wrong to assume small keys make and instrument easier to play just because there is less distance. With larger keys, the hands can 'dance' over the keys and with fewer mistakes for adults. The layout makes the original Janko piano easier conceptually. Any difficulties from the larger keys are easy to overcome with technique, but not when the keys are too small!

you have such a good and natural sense of time and rhythm.. these videos fascinate me so much ! You play better than most adults. Keep making more videos ! 5 Stars to you on all of them !
n00b! the redundant keys are there to make the fingering easy. this invention is european btw and 120+ years old and it's a janko keyboard. it's super rational... on the same row. go left one whole tone down. go right one whole tone up. go up and to the left one semi tone down. go up and to the right one semi tone up.
smart, unlike the standard keyboard who's got the major scale as basis for no goor reason whatsoever. i guess it's good if you like to play in c major. idiotic
This instrment is the chromatone.

It's an interesting idea, but I can't get use to it. This is like taking piano keys and turning it into a computer keyboard to me =/

@spectralmusic Thats why you generally only see videos of asian children playing it. Adults are too big.
xylenz 1 year ago
@spectralmusic i'd say that accordion keys are even smaller and people can play that just fine.
