The overall conclusions of these tests ARE correct, but the first few minutes violate logical testing principles. By doing it this way, they initially undermine their own credibility, which is unbelievable and stupid.

@306maxievo2 Yes, LATER ON when they tested the two economy cars they DID change the tires. The first round of testing between the truck and sedan was what I was reffering to. In THAT test, they had mismatched tires AND mismatched vehicles. So I stand by my original statements.

Perhaps, but the later test shows that the argument still stands up to the test. If they'd changed the tyres around on the first test you'd have just seen the car spin and the truck stay stable. The first test was merely there to show that a sedan with winter tyres will outperform a truck on summers or all weathers and perhaps to illustrate that just because you're in a truck, doesn't mean you're going to have more grip in the snow.

i relize that snow tires are the best for winter " Fucking DURR, obviusly" but with the grey and red car the had snow tired on the grey car, which is really small almost have the size of the red car, which means less weight and faster stopping. therefore the test in not equal and cant be tested.

I see some stupid comments of the cars should be identical. The tires are the only dominant factor on winter. No matter what kind of car you drive the results are only slight the same. All cars now a days have the same abs, traction control etc. they only provide the wheels assists but not really providing the sufficient traction you'll need. Wheels are independently controlled on each 4 equal winter tires prevents under steer and other slips on snow.

u name it buddy i drove with it like bald tires all seaon tires and snow tires ive driven at speeds of 70 mph on parkway that sais 42 mph and thats in major snow ans storm the biggets danger is not the speed its stupid people cutting you off and not knowing how to recover a car at high speeds let alone how to stop one

Well, they did swap tires of cars and in first video of this series they had same cars too, so I would say it is pretty well tested and they got more variety to vehicles shown. Everyone knows that different cars do respond bit differently.

You can try to drift around corner with allseason tyres, but you get mostly uncontrolled spins when trying to do that, when grip goes from allseason tyres it just goes.

Studded winter tyres don't loose as much grip when sliding than other tyres at winter.

Not only that up north america on easten side we only get avg 1 haft month of Snow days. Avg 2-3 month of wet road. Unless u live in alaska or way up north then ya u gonna need it. If u want a real car that handle speed then get AWD & drive slow.
