Pfft, that's not how you overdose on homeopathic medicine!
What they should have done was take a single pill, grind it into dust and put one speck of the dust in a pint of water before drinking it. That would have been an overdose!
Real is scientific homeopathy. It cures even when Conventional Allopathic Medicine (CAM) fails. Evidence-based modern homeopathy is a nano-medicine bringing big results for everyone
Hahahaha I know of plenty of pharmaceutical drugs that are ineffective and expensive that would have had very harmful effects had you tried this stunt on them, yet that is totally acceptable. Just because it doesn't harm you in large doses doesn't mean if you NEED it it won't help you.....
Why criticize something that is cheap, many find it effective, and harmless, when the drug companies are making billions off harmful, often detrimental drugs?!
@FraudOfHomeopathy Not to mention homeopathy makes billions too. And since they use such small amounts of ingredients they have far, far higher profit margins.
@RoksolanaP Difference is that harmful often detrimental drugs are labeled as such and have some very effective and highly appreciated uses for those who dearly need them. Homeopathic medicines are proven to _have no effect_, no matter what people think. Some people will take homeopathic medicine to treat themselves for very serious painful illnesses, sometimes potentially deadly, 'cause they've been told it'll help, but when it just gets worse it can be too late for real medicine to treat them.
You know PLENTY? Like what? Can you name a few that are ineffective at treating the illness they were designed to treat? Unless its become drug resistant. This one should be easy for you, because you can't show us any case studies where homeopathy has proven to be effective at all.
So, we'll cover the easy bases first. What pharmaceuticals have been proven ineffective in the same kind of medical case studies homeopathy has failed over and over and over again?
What a crock of shit homeopathy is. This pseudoscience and other quackery seems to be gaining popularity, or maybe it's just because I am doing more investigation about it? Does anyone know if it is gaining ground, or being marginalised in this age of information?
You homeopathy-deniers are so naive, of course you didn’t die of become ill from the overdose. The natural remedy only cures, it doesn’t harm the patient. That’s how the magic unicorn tears that are inside the pill works!! You idiots!!
Barnes J., Resch K-L., Ernst E. Homoeopathy for Post-Operative Ileus: A Meta-Analysis. Journal of Clinical Gastroenterology, 1997, Dec, 25, 4, 628- 633. 7 separate trials examining the effects of homoeopathic treatment for post-operative ileus after abdominal or gynaecological surgery when compared with placebo, specifically, for the time to first flatus after surgery. Subsequent analysis showed that homoeopathy provided superior results to placebo.
really? What are the terms of the bet? If I can show proof that homeopathy works, will that win it? Who are the judges? Or is this another "I'll be the judge of that" and "we have to argue over it for 10 years" like Randi's?
Depends on the type of vaccine I guess. Vaccines can be based on live/attenuated or killed or fragmented microorganisms. I reckon that if the viruses are supposed to be dead (which is usually the case), less live viruses (if they occur at all) mean higher purity.
Interestingly the vaccine makers also say that the lower the quantity of live virus it contains the purer it is... can anyone rationalise the two positions?
If homeopathic remedies are supposedly strengthened through dilution, would it not stand to "reason" -- based upon homeopath claims -- that an "overdose" would actually produce a reduced effect, due to the greater concentration of the supposedly active agent?
@Dimensiom Well, the entire bottle would be at the same concentration, so the strength of the remedy ought to be the same, if dilution is the only criterion for how efficacious the stuff.
I suppose, then, that it is important to ascertain from a homeopath expert whether the strength of a homeopathic medication is derived from the level of dilution, or if it is derived as an inverse of the quantity ingested, regardless of dilution.
Homeopathy is energy so one tablet is the same as a whole bottle if taken at the same time. The only thing you are overdosing on is sac lac. However hit the vital force of the body with a whack of homeopathic energy on a daily basis over a long period and you will then see a reaction.
"Homeopathy is energy so one tablet is the same as a whole bottle if taken at the same time."
I am unable to discern any logical means by which your conclusion may be derived from your premise, even if I were to accept that your premise is factually accurate.
There is no machine as far as I know for measuring healing energy so I cannot prove this to you. I can only go on twenty years of experience. When homeopaths undergo a "proving" to see what a new remedy does we take the remedy daily over a period of time and record symptoms. However it does not seem to affect the results whether we take one tablet or twenty. What is important is the daily taking of the remedy.
An article in a magazine called "Water" gives a full explanation of dilution.
"There is no machine as far as I know for measuring healing energy so I cannot prove this to you."
Energy is the potential for a force to perform work. I am unaware of any such potential that has been termed "healing energy". "Healing" is not, itself, a force; rather, it is a general term for a number of different biological processes which themselves are the result of various forces acting in concert.
Have you references to peer-reviewed double-blind placebo controlled studies?

@RoksolanaP Exposing homeopathy for the fraud it is is extremely useful.
Your argument is a total non sequitur. If the drugs companies are making billions, what the hell has that got to do with not criticising homeopathy?
So just because A has some element of bad practice, then B should be allowed not matter how silly and ridiculous?
