@Henripostant They're shorter than an inch long, I don't know why you would want to. The big oceanic shrimp people eat are very different than the little aquarium ones.
@AndTheWorldSoared I wish I could set up an aquaponic-shrimps based system, that's why. Do you know about a shrimp specy that can be both bred and eaten ?
@Henripostant I know Giant Malaysian Prawns are edible. You'd want to get them small and then fatten them up, though, because full grown ones are pricey.
typical of life and evolution those bigger shrimp just pick on the genetically smaller shrimp. of course some people may like to lie to you and tell you yeah but when they grow up that smaller shrimp is going to get all the female shrimp and be a ceo of a fortune 500 company. but in reality the bigger shrimp get all the shrimp girls and food and jobs and the smaller genetically inferior shrimp is brushed aside in the cruel ongoing tale of evolution. Fuck this I am going to kill myself.
Last week i got a 5gl aquarium, I have 6 ghost shrimps, they took some feets and antenaes from the smaller one, that happened in the plastic bag when i was travelling home, lucky he is regenerating and is in good shape.
Yes they ate she shed shell of one that was mmm growing.
They hunt for food, and hunt for tetras, my poor neon tetras... Expensive meal...
@111olbap Nope. Ghost shrimp have been known to hunt down smaller fish on occasion. "It has been observed that at warmer temperature, this Shrimp becomes very active and sometimes turns aggressive enough to attack other small animals."

This is a cool vid. I want some of that crumble food. I love how the crystal shrimp just glide along smoothly and effortlessly through the water.

Why are there Crystal Red Shrimp and Bee Shrimp in the same tank? They will interbreed and degrade the quality of the CRS.

@DaRealMaverick
Those are Crystal Blacks and Crystal Reds, a lot of times you'll get both from breeding reds or blacks.
