what? this is a tool video? i don't know but i vaguely remember seeing something along the lines of this in a movie... i'm not sure at all. but still pretty good
10 to 2 AM, X, Yogi DMT, and a box of Krispy Kremes, in my "need to know" pose, just outside of Area 51.
Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thingy when a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this.
Cutting right angle donuts on a dime and stopping right at my Birkenstocks, and me yelping...
not true. If you brew it in a tea in combination with a MOAI (monoamine oxidase inhibitor) it can last well over 3 hours creating an experience more intense than psilocybin mushrooms.
The astounding thing that he was shown during his trip was the end of the human race or the world. He was supposed to transcribe it but he for got his pen...and he was too high to remember.
nobody leaves, believe me, its just better to embrace, you'll only go in one HUGE circle n wind up back in Tool town anyway n realise it was the most logical place to stay, for a dancier mind expanding listen i recommend Shpongle to you all, peace out fellow TOOL lovers :-)
the song is about the singer's trip on DMT, a powerful hallucinogen, and he went to area 51 and in the hallucination he saw a spaceship crash, an alien bringing him in, and showing him something absolutely astounding.
it's comin around again if you can handle killing yourself (your ego). the brain is packed with enough dmt to trip sober, yall sound like peanuts parents. nothing else matters.
I've read the comments on here by people who have done some decidedly more illicit drugs. This song seems to speak most to people who have done LSD. The song, the video from Fire in the Sky, and the descriptions of some trips people have been on...its all fascinating, but a little scary. I haven't seen that movie in a long time (only once), and it was even scarier with that song playing. The experiences people describe from LSD...don't know if I'll ever be ready for that. Good job on the vid.
well,it opens up your sub-con,so if your in the right mind frame,happy,well-adjusted things should go good for you,if you are scared, nervous, troubled etc.maybe hold off for awhile, it helps to be with your best friends, the ones you love
it's basically the same riff from earlier in the song before they stop, only played halftime and with chords and palm muting in different spots, blah blah blah
He is in the hospital having flashbacks of a real or imagined event.
But really the song kind of paints the picture of how you can feel the day after your first really heavy and deep LSD "trip". Not your crap frizzle paper either. Real LSD. You feel like you really figured something out or discovered the secrete to something and want to tell everyone. However you can't really put your finger on it because you don't have a clue. "It" faded with experience and is lost.
All i can add is of course, you do realize secrets on acid. Secrets about our own mind that just appear to extend so far beyond it. But its all perception. When i first heard this song, everything about it...the word choicage, the overly complex analyzing that never leaves your head (comprehendably at least), all of it was 95% similar to my trips.
I do agree that it unlocks a vast vision somewhere in our sub conscience. It is my experience that it can take years to come into focus. Other than the "wow the world should live in peace" crap.
Yeah... on my fourth and final trip, I took way more than I meant to and ended up running around nude for several hours, thinking I was god, that time and space was an illusion, that existence was really a singularity and I was that singularity, and so on... I recall some phrase that I either repeated or imagined repeating, or at least hearing. I can vaguely remember it being a bunch of nonsense syllables and sounds, but it seemed to be the secret to everything. That night ended after I (cont)
was somehow seriously injured. I suffered massive facial trauma that fractured my maxillary and nasal bones, and displaced my nasal bone and septum. All I remember is waking up on the side of the road covered in blood, still nude. I thought I was in a parallel universe until I left the ER later that morning. I'm done with drugs... I never meant to take that much, it was an accident. I always treated LSD with respect, but it still overpowered me. If you use it, be very, very careful.
That sounds like a terrible trip man. It pays to be very careful with LSD. I advise starting with a half or whole, and should you choose to increase dosage by half a tab each time progressively. And don't watch anything to trippy. Stay with mates at all times and don't wander aimlessly away from your mates. Drugs are excellent, If your into it. Just be careful. :-)
I started out with one, then did two, then one again, then took... hell if I know. It was on paper and one of the tabs I took was darker stained than all the rest. All I know is that half way up I was tripping harder than any of my earlier peaks... and after an hour, I only remember little bits and pieces... This song perfectly describes a bad trip, and the futility of some of the 'revelations' you experience on such trips. I think Maynard is also making fun of deadhead trippers.
Totally haunting and perfect. This is coming from a old fart Tool fan, the first EP and etc. I must've watched this video so many times - I wanna go check whether the family video has this out on disc.
i think that maynardwrote the lyrics n a double-tongued fashion: Yes, the character in the song believes that his experience was real. But, given that the song prior to Rosetta Stoned is labeled Lost Keys (Blame Hofmann), a direct reference to the creator of LSD, Albert Hofmann.
Either way, the song is badass to play, and is a classic example of exemplar writing.
wait did tool make that or did joememo make that video!, whom ever made that that is fucked up but totaly good, so the guy go ubducted and he was being tested but it was a dream i dont get it!

"10 to 2AM" = first line of the song... you need a kilogram of DMT to make your trip last that long.

Sorry, you are wrong.
Direct song quote, "It's gotta be
the Deadhead chemistry!
The blotter got right on top of me"
DMT is a naturally occurring substance not synthesised like LSD. LSD is put onto paper and then taken.
Maybe im wrong but thats what it seems like to me.
