  • complete Awesome love their songs. i also like the the deep voice in this song and in their (holy holy holy) song.

  • oh! ya ya ya ya ya , ke passa,so nice ,

  • malandro que baixo é esse muito bom!

  • My dear departed grandmother and I used to sit and listen to the whole tape from end to end. She loved it and I loved her!

  • Rodney always knocked my socks off hearing how deep his voice was and how talented all of the singers in this group were. An amazing group of men, down to earth and so uplifting to be around.

  • My favorite song because I was that wretch. Thank you my Jesus.

  • thanks. i was looking for this.

  • This is the original from Acappella. It is impossible to mistake Rodney Britt.

  • wow thats deep!

  • its beautifull, forthe people who think this is not the original, it is! not the singers, but the melody and the way its sung. and its been sung with respect, many singers of today forget what they are actually singing. and for what the song has originally been written.

  • i love this song!!! i cant believe how deep his voice gets!! its beautifull!!

  • Is this really the original? ^^ Uw'wwwwwww ... *giggle*

  • in the first seconds of the song i thought someone was burping

  • this is the origional version? its hilarious! bu ti love it

  • It's like a pat on the back and a "You can do it. Just keep on moving."

    from JESUS

  • I love Acapella! This is so beautiful.

  • To many people talking about singing bass here and very few have any idea what they are talking about. Rodney Britt is a good bass singer. Stays in his natural range.

  • @plodd34 A lot of people don't realize that. I noticed people flagged your post as spam, but I looked anyway.. Glad I did. I gave you a *thumbs up*

  • the bass is deep

  • @Sonny170695

only the last note, the rest a baritone can sing =D

  • @ilovecoheed123 hmm yh probabily :D

  • the guy sounds like he is burping the song!!!! :/

  • @doritosch lol yeah i know

  • @doritosch i think he has a beautiful timbre in his voice. its so hard to sing below a low C while keeping steady pitch and tone. you know the old saying, if you don't have anything to nice to say ...blah blah blah. i very much despise naive comments like this.

  • @nesnes2112 lol whateverr! i can say what i like ;)

  • Great hymn indeed. Actually Newton was English, not Welsh and he never worked for the East India Company, though his father did. The last post has too much of a modern slant: it was slavery that Newton opposed, not racism, the concept of which would have been alien in that era. Newton may have held what some may now consider racist views even after his shift on slavery. At its best 18th century society would have been patronising towards black people, seeing them as savages to be civilised

  • @tpfletcher Indeed. This song was actually considered his testimony and the tune to which it is set has the 5 notes of the "slave scale" that many old African-American spirituals were set to. He had been the former Captain of a slave trader and possibly heard that tune drifting up from the hold as a lament of some of the slaves.

I think Newton would have been among "the best" in his views towards black people after that point as he actually set his testimony to their music.

  • As i know it, as an english/welshman. a welshman who used to be in the EIC (east india tading company) who used to transport people as slaves, he went blind. after he went blind, realised racism was wrong, hence " amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. i once was lost, but now im found, am blind but now i see." meaning now he's was blind to the racism but now he sees it.

  • GOD BLESS GRACE!!!!!!

  • The Ironey is a blind priest wrote this song but i still love it!!!!

  • This is Rodney Britt and Keith Lancaster from Acappella's Conqueror's album that was released in 1986. Rodney is a powerhouse bass and can even sing quite lower than he does in this song. This was long before the days of Gary Evans. Tim Storms and Wes McKinzie are also amazing bass singers.

  • Anyone know if that's Gary Evans? as basso profundo

  • Not Gary... This is from way back in the 80's with Rodney Britt. The guy is a vocal hero with Superdeep Bass, and some great baritone and tenor vocals. Truly a talent given by God!

  • @jltillett thanks much for the info

  • that is one phat phkn base!

songs like these are compelling no matter what you listen to, this version of the song is not what i was looking for but you gotta admire the guys voice!

  • what the im afraid in the big voice

  • the original sound is lost !

this is not the original... nobody knows it

-.- but i love this version ^^ the sound is god ... and this song blessed my heart !

i-not amarikan .. i'm german and hear hip hop .. but i love sind sonst so much :D
