Good tips, but I don't agree that women should always wear pants suits rather than a skirt suit to an interview. A knee-length pencil skirt can look just as polished (if not more) than a pants suit. You should just wear nylons so that you're not showing actual skin. It's important that the skirt fit well, of course, so that you aren't constantly adjusting it. But skirt suits are fine; if the company considers femininity a liability then it's probably not a great place to work anyway.

Man, it was bad. I had to eat crackers and stuff to afford gas and clothes to make it to an interview. My car had no A/C, so I would get dressed in a public bathroom to avoid showing up sweaty. I was busy catching rats in my ceiling on the weekends. At one point, I was almost without a car, and just a bike. No bullshit.
