I think we can see from this video, numerous videos where police murder innocent people, the absolutely ridiculous US prison population, and the record of cops railroading and torturing confessions out of people just what sort of order it is that's being enforced and therefore what sort of society is being sustained.

We need the cops to enforce order otherwise chaos would ensue. In this case, the g20 riot was an unauthorized assembly and therefore unlawful, which risks having riot police break apart your protest.

I think one of the reasons the police in some American cities (hard to judge as i am not from there and only been there once) are so paranoid, is because the know that there is alot of angry people, ready to fight.
