and why you using ground power at the same time as APU? you can start APU without ground power, and maybe (i dont remember) you can start engines on ground power without APU.

lol, just remember this video is recorded right after the release of DCS so at that time i was not very familiar with the system. this video is recorded just after my fourth of fifth pratice and i was still reading the checklist when recording this lol

and remember ot this movie one step is not showed: to enable dc power you must call ground crew, then move the dc and ac power switches, if your power is ready you have green indicator, if you only using switch, and forgot to call ground crew like this movie you can be suprised ;)

Those first two green lights don't come on when I hit the EXT DC and EXT AC I'm not sure what I could've done wrong since that's your first step....any ideas?

i see what's wrong. those buttons are for external power supply, if you dont have such equipment outside, they are useless. you can press the two switches in the middle for battery power

wow you have to press all that in a game just to the heli started? pretty cool, it looks realistic to someone who's never seen the inside of a heli cockpit.

one thing though, if you have to press all those buttons in that order to get it started, why not just put all the buttons in a row one after another? :)

Ok that would be fun start up rotor is say left, right next to it is fuel,then push the other button oww hell i just shot hangar 3 to oblivion was the hell fire button. :P I think you get the pic ...im downloading this sim im very eager to try it ^^

I bought the game a few weeks ago. Able to do to the start up sequence now without looking at the cheat sheet, yay :-) great game if you like realism!!

Yah its not so hard axtually if you know al little about turbine engines ^^. Set batttery 1 and 2 on or radio in for ground power up to you

You start the APU (open fuel cutoff) set the start switch to APU and start it. Then open fore/aft fuel pumps. Govenators for left right engine. Then set switch to one of the engines start it up...check the green light open the red lever (be sure rotorbrake is off) wiat till it idles. Then the same for the other engine . Then stop the APU done ^^

I just got this game like, 10 mins ago, and uh, how do you start on the ground? and also, how to do look around AND be able to click everything? i can only use the mouse to look around but no yellow cross to click anything? :S

not all functions can be accessed by mouse. an important one is done by press PgUP and PgDOWN. 2\4\5\6\8 in NumPad for look around

I'D LIKE TO SEE SOMEONE WHO'S ABLE TO DO THIS:

1. START THE LEFT OR RIGHT ENGINE NORMALLY

2. SHUT IT DOWN(you may bring it to idle or not if you want to) IMMEDIATELY(SO BE CAREFULL NOT TO LET IT RUNNING FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS)

3. NOW TELL ME IF THE GG RPM(if i'm correct, the rpm indicator below the EGT, on the right side of the cocpit) WILL EVER GET ABOVE 0% WHEN YOU WANT TO RESTART IT!

THIS EIGHTER MAY BE A BUG, OR THE KA-50'S ENGINES ARE FOR A SINGLE USE!:P

Please tell me what's wrong!

Anyone know what the IFF switch is for? I think it turns on the "identify friend or foe" system, but what does that actually do? It's not like it shows which units are friendly or hostile.
